STORY: HOW IT BEGAN........................(MY CHRONICLES #1)

It’s been an interesting 72 days on steemit, for me.

It started out as a gamble

I heard it was a platform where I could make real money.

Admittedly, I had an erroneous mindset before joining

Then I joined, and I was fortunate to be part of an incredible Telegram group Steemitdotcom

My journey was made smooth with the help of the group and the awesome leadership of @dreamchasser

With time, patience, perseverance, and investments, I began to find my feet.

Still with the group of fantastic minds and talents, we started creating awareness for ourselves.

We decided to take a step further by creating an inner chamber within our Telegram group comprising of @dreamchasser, @diskorvery, @bitfairy, @dorth, @ceepee, @drepo15, @datageek, @rexhafiz, @kingxy, @oluwataye, @hay-bam, @ahmedsteem, my favourite Indian @geetasnani, @jayloloman @stevekins, @chukky, @sportsprediction, @lamex, @kaybammy and my humble self @rickie.

In any group, some members would often leave and new members would always join. So, while some left, new guys @turpsy, @heartbitcoin, @elbleess, @mmagreat, @ebohio2008, @ebugreat, @abenike, @hugobro, @wiselinkz, @bssman and so many others joined as well (I love and appreciate you all).

The inner chamber group was made up of ambitious newbies hoping to accelerate their growth on steemit.

We invested, we posted on our blogs…..and we gradually began to see our growth potentials.

Then came the legendary @donkeypong, @hanshotfirst, @hr1 and some of the Nigerian curators and BOSSES (like I respectfully call each one of them) @onequality, @gbenga, @fisteganos, who came visiting my tribute post, to my late sister.

It seemed somewhat strange that it would take the death of a sister; the subsequent tribute I wrote for her; and the unintentional and unknowing use of the #nigeria tag, to bring the ‘whales’ to my post for the very first and significant time.

The unknowing use of the #nigeria tag for a second time, gave me further exposure and the boss himself @ehiboss and the ever amiable @destinysaid, found my post…….....and they both simultaneously gave me one of the most significant tips I ever got on steemit…. SOURCE YOUR IMAGES and USE THE NIGERIA TAG.

As a newbie and apparent minnow….I had absolutely no idea what “source your images” meant.

But further prodding made me realize that the instruction was for me to state the source of my images, which I promised to do going forward.

On my own I struggled to figure out the markdown codes for referencing images. I had to turn to @destinysaid for help…

Then came @destinysaid to my rescue, on steemit.chat ….

Subsequently following the accounts of both gurus, and a fortunate sighting of a post by @fisteganos on the use of #nigeria and the Nigerian curators, I also chanced upon @ehiboss post on Nigerian community curation report and significance of using the #nigeria and africa tags. With the discovery, a new and positive growth progression on steemit opened up for me and my fellow Nigerian newbies.

In order to learn and keep up with my determination and growth on steemit, I followed the Nigerian community curators, @donkeypong, @infovore, @fisteganos, @ehiboss, @ogoowinner, @destinysaid, @gbenga and @hanshotfirst – all of whom I have felt on my posts at one point or the other (I love and appreciate you guys).

So many other great steemians have blessed my posts, at one point or the other.

Minnows, dolphins and whales alike; I can’t thank you enough. Veterans like @ogochukwu, @curie, @hendrikdegrote, @ripperone, @analisa, @blocktrades, @pharesim, @mangos, @stimp1024, @bania, @ejemai, @arsenal49, @misterakpan, @dante31, have all at one point or the other laid their experienced hands on my posts. I appreciate you all.

There are too many steemians I could thank, for my memorable time here; too numerous to mention, and deeply from my heart, I say thank you, for making my 72 days as memorable as it has been.

And after 72 days, I can say for sure that it’s been an amazing and enlightening experience on this brilliant steemit platform.

I have learnt a lot, and I keep learning every other day. I’m nowhere near the level I want to be at.

I haven’t interacted with near half the veterans I so desire to learn from.

I wish they could be a little more open with enthusiastic beings like me, who genuinely want to know how their experience have been since inception of steemit.

I wish they won’t be as elusive as some of them are. I also wish they would have more time for friendly Q & A sessions with their followers and admirers. But then again, these are mere wishes.

I hope to grow; and grow I will. I hope to get to a stage where I can help and mentor newbies and minnows. I hope to gradually build my reputation respectably on steemit.

I would keep steeming and I would keep pushing till I reach my goal.

As always, thank you for your time and for reading my post.
