THE NEXT EXCUSE

I was on a call one time with a relative who wanted my professional opinion on which agribusiness to start. We spent over 45minutes while I continued to breakdown on every agribusiness idea he brought up. This was a free consultation and yet I gave out valuable information hoping that this relative was going to swipe straight into action right after that call. I was wrong.

At another time a friend called and first said he was impressed by how far I have come with agribusiness in just a year. I quickly corrected him that I was 3 years down the line in that business (this was correct at the time of that call). So he went on to open up with his intention about joining in on the business "oh that's great!" "How soon do you wish to start?" I asked.

We finished on that call and I never heard from him until over 3 months later. This time he came by our farm. I took him round and showed him exactly where we started at with 50 birds and narrated all the story about how we failed then almost got discouraged out of the business but came back in and see where we are. He saw our pen which at the time was holding about 600 broiler birds.

In my heart, I did everything and spent all that time trying to help this young man find his paths and with great hope I thought he had figured it all out. I was wrong.

There was even a time when we had gone to his house and I explained exactly how he can construct a small pen house right there in their compound and begin. Again I was wrong.

I have had several calls and situations as the ones mentioned above but that's not what gets me really concerned.

Here is a bigger issue, last year, we spent time and resources in organizing the first biggest online agribusiness conference that resulted in almost 100 testimonials collected from participants without pressuring them to say anything nice and going through those testimonials we saw how people were so motivated and hoped that many will immediately swipe into action but again we were wrong.

Wait, there are people who even had attended paid classes and are still giving lots of reasons why they are yet to start.

Every single day I see valuable resources going out free with a fraction set taking advantage of it.

There are people who have heard so much dangerous things that should have made them millionaires at the very least by now but are still convincing themselves of why they needed to remain poor or at the very point below where they are.

The worst cases are even the persons who spend so much money in these courses and programs (which are valuable by the way) and yet do NOTHING!

So I ask again,

What else do you need to start?

When will you ever begin?

Exactly, the excuse has come in again. I hear you saying things and one word you keep mentioning is "capital".

I wish they can bring you in front of a TV and sit you down to watch the movie " thousands began with just the little they had". This is not a real movie, but I am conveying a message to you. While you're right there thinking of the next reasonable excuse to come up with. Someone out there is thinking on how to use what he has because "...what you have is enough." (John Obidi).
