Baltimore is in the northern half of the State of Maryland along the Patapsco River in the Chesapeake Bay region, the Baltimore city elevation is also divided into two; called the Lower City for coastal areas and Upper City in the hilly region of Pimlico which reaches 150 meters above sea level.
The climate in Baltimore includes a sub-tropical area, tending to warm in Autumn and Spring seasons, sometimes interspersed with rain. However in the Cold season the temperature can drop to -7C and snow fall to a height of 50an Cm. Summer temperatures average about 27C. I arrived in Baltimore ahead of Summer with an average temperature of 17C.
The city of Baltimore is divided into 9 districts, but is often simplified into 4 Districts, Northern and Southern Districts separated by Baltimore Street while Eastern and Western districts are separated by Charles Street.
Downtown Baltimore is home to about 13,000 residents of a commercial area, where Harbor Place, Convention Center, business centers such as Legg Mason and Constellation Energy, National Aquarium, bars and cafés or entertainment centers, Camden Yards Sport sports complex, University of Maryland Campus and University of Maryland Medical System.

North Baltimore is more dominated by many universities and educational centers, such as the College of Notre Dame, the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, the Western High School as well as several buffer zones also built in the North.
Southern Baltimore seems to cater for a divided dwelling area according to the economic capacity of the family, there are rich elite areas, young professionals and marginal areas.
East Baltimore is similar to Southern Baltimore, a residential area of higher education facilities, such as John Hopkins University. The Eastern Baltimore region is also an extension of the commercial district of downtown activity.
West Baltimore is a rather mixed situation between residence, university and business center. In this region many Jews live, Afro-American communities, whilst indigenous whites prefer to live in areas over more exclusive hills.
A Monument called the Washington Monument is located in the hills of Vermont built early 19th century.
The Harbor of Baltimore has undergone a major restoration several times, now a business and commercial center, in this place tethered to several legendary ships, such as the USS Constelliation, USS Torsk a submarine that broke the record of more than 10,000 dives, the Coast Guard Taney ship a lifeboat war bombing of Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941.
It looks like life in Baltimore is rather hard, looks a lot homeless.
On the other hand, Baltimore is a city visited by many tourists with the National Aquarium as the highest ranking as the area visited tourist in Maryland. Last year 2012, there were 21 million migrants visiting the city of Baltimore and is estimated to spend USD 4.4 billion.
We were down the freeway 95, it felt right the cities in America were built with good green planning interspersed with lots of urban forest. I've lost orientation, where this bus took us. The bus driver, taking us out of the Freeway and down the suburb area featuring European style homes, I do not know how long this road trip, I tried to sleep but wanted to also pay attention to the street atmosphere with the residents of the Lincoln era.
Finally we stopped at an American aristocrat style hotel located on Massachusetts Avenue NW and wooooow, I just realized that this hotel is in the elite area of the Embassy's offices including the Indonesian Embassy in Washington DC. Apparently Baltimore in the State of Maryland is bordered by Washington.
I was a bit stunned, my memory back to last Friday, May 24, I was still in front of 250 students of SMA3 Malang giving a lecture "Inspiration Class" in the program "Director of State Enterprises Teaches", in the evening, I have been in Dubai. Yesterday not satisfied with the city of Stockholm in Sweden, and today after a long journey I have set foot in New York, Baltimore and now Washington DC, the capital city of the United States just 10 minutes walk to the Capitol Building and not far from Union Station, greatest. Washington DC (District of Columbia) special area of the American capital is indeed flanked by the State of Maryland and Virginia. The extent of about 177 sq km is inhabited by approximately 5.6 million inhabitants. The capital also serves as the base of more than 176 embassy offices, the headquarters of the World Bank, the IMF, and many other government offices, organizations, businesses and so on.
Washington DC is divided into 4 areas not equal to the center of the Capitol Building; North West (NW), North East (NE), South East (SE) and South West (SW). So I was in Massachusetts avenue NW or also known as the Embassy Row in the Northwest region of Washington DC. The streets of America generally follow the same pattern, the roads across the East-West are named in the alphabet, for example A Street, B Street, and so on. While the roads across the North-South are named alphabet, for example 1st Steet, 2nd Street, and so on.
Some colleagues in our entourage immediately took the initiative to go do city tour and take pictures ria however I prefer to rest at the hotel.
There are at least 6 buildings in Washington DC including the top 10 buildings in America, the White House, the Washington National Catedral, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, the US Capitol, the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The White House is the most visited building of tourists.
As important as the city of Washington, the city is served by 3 major airports; Washington Ronald Reagan Domestic Airport, Dulles Washington International Airport and Baltimore
Washington International Airport Thurgood Marshall where we landed.

Lincoln Memorial is visited by more than six million visitors each year.
The National Mall is a large open-air park area in the middle of town. Because of its fame, the region is often used as a protest site for citizen protests. The Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial are located near the center of the mall, in the South White House. In addition, in this mall there is the Lincoln Memorial, at the eastern end of the large pool "Reflecting Pool" and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

In the South of the mall, there is a Tidal Basin planted with Sakura trees that were originally a gift from Japan. Franklin D Roosevelt Memorial, George Mason Memorial, Jefferson Memorial and Martin Luther King Memorial are also located here.
Smithsonian's most visited museum is the National Air and Space Museum which is also located in the National Mall.
The city of Washington DC is also the center of national and international media. The Washington Post is the oldest and most readable newspaper in Washington, "The Post," as it is called.
Some media companies and cable television channels have headquarters in the area, including C-SPAN, National Geographic Channel, etc. The headquarters of Voice of America, the US-based international news service, is located near the Capitol in SW Washington.
Washington is also home to two annual marathon races, the Marine Corps Marathon held in Fall and Rock n Roll USA Marathon held every Spring season. Marine Corps Marathon which began in 1976 is sometimes called "The People's Marathon" because it is the biggest marathon that does not promise prize money to the participants.

There is a wholesale store, located at the intersection of York Avenue NE and 4thStreet NE still in around Washington city, we used to call it "Warehouse" because its shape is more like a warehouse area than a shopping mall. This warehouse sells goods merchandise is actually a wholesale for retail merchants especially souvenir products.
In this warehouse we can shop "stealth" various souvenirs in retail. It is said to be covert because actually only licensed buyers (traders) are allowed to buy goods here. But there are stores who dare to sell their goods in retail tax-free. We can buy T-Shirt shirt with Washington DC or Barack Obama or American drawing for USD 10 for 3 shirts. Various hats, jackets, handbags, various souvenirs at very cheap prices!
In addition to Washington are also scattered Factory Outlet selling branded goods, for example in Simon Mills, but the largest is at Leesburg Corner Premium Outlet located at 241 Fort Evans Road NE Leesburg Virginia about 1 hour driving from Washington DC.
Leesburg Corner sells a wide range of branded products at great discounts and is much cheaper than any outlet I've ever visited in different countries.

We spent 1.5 hours shopping in the Warehouse and 4 hours shopping at Leesburg Corner plus 1 hour at Simon Mills and ending dinner at the Asian Café then it's over the course of the day.
The tired bodies still have to arrange suitcases with various luggage since departing from Jakarta on 29 Sept 2017, via Dubai and Stockholm. Tomorrow morning we have to leave Washington DC and imagine the return flight will pass 2 nights with total travel time for approximately 28 hours before arriving to Jakarta north
