The other woman Ep 4

Looking at the flowers he sent this morning, I smile reminiscing over how we started and how far we've gone. It's our anniversary today, three years since we exchanged vows.

I order for a bottle of champagne to be delivered at the house by six in the evening. I clear my table before five with plans of celebrating our anniversary this night.

I got home few minutes before six and delivery was made thirty five seconds later. I go inside to change into the sexy red lingerie I purchased days before, put a smoky make up on with my lips painted red and red heels to match. I'm ready! He'd be back by sixty thirty so I quickly position myself in a romantic mode. Seven thirty and he isn't in, I pick my phone and call him but he wasn't picking.

I fall asleep on the couch and was awoken to the sound of a car. I peep through the window and saw Mark struggling to get down of the car. I run downstairs, scared. I got to him and pull him out, he staggers and mumble some incoherent words and the smell of rotten egg, he's drunk.

I go to the kitchen in the morning to have tea and leave for work. I meet him there, having tea, we look at each other without saying a word and I left for the office.

It's a week since he came home drunk, I've been avoiding him and neither has he he tried to have a conversation about what happened.
Our lives became different, we hardly saw each other, no discussion, no calls nor text messages. Mark started keeping late nights, comes home drunk and spends most night out. I'm losing my husband.

I was in the living room watching a television program when Mark's phone buzzed beside me. I picked it up and saw a message box with the name Lucy on its screen. I open the message and got the shocker of my life.

"Hi love, you're coming over tonight? We'll have fun all night. Don't be late. Kisses."
I could feel my head rise as hot tears streamed down my face. So many thoughts ran in my head as I sit back on the sofa. Could Mark be cheating on me? Is she the one he spends his nights with? Is... Did..... too many thoughts.
I hear footsteps on the stairs and I watch him walk pass me, he picked his phone and looked at it smiling. He went for his car keys and left. I then realized that I've lost my husband completely.

I stare into space thinking about the recent events and I hear someone shout my name. My secretary, Margaret was standing in front of my desk looking at me, I don't even remember how I got to the office. She pulls a chair out and sit in it.

"Tina, is anything the matter?" she asks.
Margaret is a forty five year divorcee with three kids. we've been working together for almost two years and I get along with her but we don't discuss personal issues. I look at her thinking if she's the right person to open up to.

"I've lost my husband." I began. "I lost him to another woman." I could barely finish the statement before I start to cry.
"okay." she said calmly. I look at her wondering how she did that. she stares back with the go ahead look.
I go into the memory lane and tell her all that has been on for the past two months. Margaret listened and didn't interrupt me and when I'm done, she sighed.
"I think you need a private investigator. I wouldn't want us to jump into conclusions as it might be a set up plan or true and the message might be a diverted one.
"It's not." i argue almost jumping out of my chair
"His name wasn't mentioned, was it?" she asked
I sit back calmly though not convinced.
"How do we get a PI?" I ask
"Are you sure you want this? I mean ready for anything that comes out of this?" She asks looking into my eyes.
"Yes I am" i answer confidently.
