I had this system for getting what I wanted out of people. I would first sweet talk them, behave nicely towards them, do whatever they want, till they become wrapped around my fingers and then I go for the kill, I get what I want. Its always worked for me, I call it the 'charm technique'. I tried it on my friend once, I needed her to run an errand for me, one only she could do and I knew in an ordinary situation, she would never go and so I worked my technique on her, even went as far as guilt-tripping her and voila, I got what I wanted.
He was skating on thin ice-thats all I can say, I told my friend as I watched a boy in my neighborhood wander off with a group of no-gooders in the area. I guess he wanted to belong, peer pressure had eaten so deep into him that he wanted nothing more than to be with those guys and do what they usually made him do no matter how wrong they were, he would forget his morals, everything his single mother had taught him all for an opportunity to belong with the popular crowd, he just wouldn't listen. He would go out in the morning and come back late at night wasted. His mother would often ask, where did I go wrong?
The day Sheila brought Hilary to my office was probably one of the worst days of my life. I had been having one of the worst days so far, things weren't just working out and to top it, my best friend comes to my office with the boy who was always hanging out with the criminals. I told her, "no good would come out of this relationship" but she inisted she was in love and wouldn't just listen to reason, I tried working my technique on her to get her to dump him, I tried for days but she was obstinate. I could do nothing but watch my best friend fade away with Hilary, her so-called lover, who by the way was a criminal in the making!!!
They can be really challenging, the weekend freewrites! Nice job. :)
Thanks
Fantastic work with these prompts! It's sad when our well meaning advice won't reach a friend.
Today your prompts are being delivered by a young, spindly legged Gerenuk who has recently moved to the town of Freewrite. (We handed him the bag, told him it was tradition that each new resident upheld, then went to luau!)
Thank u....
