I found this to be a very interesting essay. I've heard of Kierkegaard but didn't know much about him. His relationship with Regina is a compelling story, and who knows what would have happened if they wed. Thanks for posting this!

Thanks, for reading, @Kenny-crane. K is an endlessly fascinating guy, something of a saint and rebel, at the same time. His life story is an enactment of Yeat's (not necessarily true) proposal that we must choose between the perfection of the life or the work.
Worthwhile to consider alternative outcomes. What, indeed, would have happened had they wed? Would he not have written or would he have written, differently --perhaps, even better?
