How have security measures changed ? Do you feel safer now , or is there still much more needed to be done?!
I think theres no way to stop someone really if their home grown, Isis supporters or Isis wannabes, there already here and willing to do anything it takes for what they believe in, with no regard to their fellow citizens.
Sure you can try to secure our boarders and airports , our harbours and imigrants coming into our country. But theres a limit to what the government can do. I dont even travel for fear of whats going on all over the world. With innocent people being bombed it seems on a daily basis! But then you have to think, how safe are you really at home!?
Even after 15 years since 9/11 I dont think any of us will ever truely feel safe. Of course i dont allow this to stop me from living my life! And im not constantly paranoid, but its still in the back of my mind. And i still wont travel.
The Canadian government's new anti-terror act bill C-51. Restructures the national security laws so extensively that it will take years to understand the laws full effects! Theres the good , the bad and the ugly in this report. Heres a link to a summary of this report in Walrus. http://thewalrus.ca/bill-c-51-the-good-the-bad-and-the-truly-ugly/
Which breaks it down so its more understandable, about what you should welcome, and what you should fear.
Please give it a read and comment on how safe you feel, or is there more you like seen done?! Thanks!

"Bill C-51, if passed, would allow Federal Court judges to limit all sorts of Charter rights, including the right of Canadian citizens to return to Canada. What’s worse, there is no guarantee that such judicial decisions will be made public, given the need for secrecy in terror cases".
How convenient this is for putting an end to political resistance? All it takes is for 'certain people' (no, what conspiracy?) to become irrationally frightened and label any inconvenient (or convenient) person as a threat in order to hold power over a more reasonable seeming agenda.
The most important thing to understand is terrorism itself and how it operates. The secrecy surrounding terrorism is the very thing which allows it to operate freely behind the veils of power. The terrorists, and by this I am not denying the dangers of extremism or extremist groups in any form, have become the reasonably powerful men and women who are acting out political agendas against others based upon their own fears and sense of self/group superiority.
Aint no chickens here, bring on the bad guys. But, now we have to worry about cowards hiding behind the arbitrary powers of rule enforcement and the ability to create legislation to suit their fears or ambitions.
I'd feel safer facing the assassin's blade again than to receive from a white wigged black robe the strokes of a frightened judgemental pen.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
No, F no.
Bill C-51 took too much from Canadian citizens. They now know almost as much about our life as Facebook and Visa do.
Not only that it is a failed program that's costing billions.
Just this past summer. Long after Bill C-51 has been operating without any oversight or accountability. The RCMP CSIS DND and the CSE (communication Security Establishment) failed to discover a home grown terrorist in our own country.

It took America's FBI to save Canadians with a billion dollar system in place. WTF!!?? What the hell we're our guys doing, sleeping at the wheel?
How can Trudeau who was voted in saying he would modify or in the least create some oversight for these guys and after a year he has done nothing of the sort. The system failed. Why? It's a secret.
Yes i must agree with you! The system for the most part was a fail! I did add a link to the good and the ugly of it all! Thanks for your reply! 😉
There are no real terrorist in America, only lobbyists.
