There was a merchant who lost his house due to fire. A client sensitive to this, decided to pay his purchase in full intending to help the merchant recover.
Negotiations can be win-win, but with excessive bargaining it can be win-lose. By bargaining excessively, we "bar the gain" of others and our gains with be barred as well. Negotiate when appropriate.
