Here, it’s called, “Null and Void.”

in #story7 years ago

A preteen kid named Walter, known mostly for his discrete, unbeatable knowledge on technology, meets and makes friends with a sentient computer virus who calls themselves, “Null.” Null, making a new friend after so long, pulls him into the digital world, but they’re unable to escape... Until a girl named Oka, who lives in the fantasy world of Gale Cradle, stumbles across a mysterious file on her desktop after clicking on a link an unknown email address sent her.

When brought to the link, it had a black backdrop and white text, which had every letter of the web page in binary. Bringing it to a decoder site, it manages to communicate a couple of cryptic messages, the most notable being, “find me,” with a download link at the bottom.

Opening her download folder, she scrolled only to see a new item, appropriately named, “Null.zip.” Curious, wondering if this was just another creepypasta game sent by some random fool to make it seem eerie, she opened it up to see what it was all about. Opening it seemed to display two people, who were currently arguing about... Something.

One was obviously the older of the bunch, Average male figure, average male hairstyle, average male voice. That, however, is where the similarities stop.

The first one, the taller and older one of the two, was a completely black silhouette aside from some shading. He bore pearly white eyes with no pupils, and a voice that seemed to speak even with the absence of mouth to do so. This person seemed to be constantly referred to as, “Null.”

The second one, however, seemed to be a complete and utter negative of that character. They showed an average form of a young adult, and they acted just the same. They bore glasses on their bloodshot eyes, and wore some type of shirt-hoodie combination over a black tee. Their pants were quite average and, like Oka, their skin bore a fairly pale complexion, most likely from lack of natural light. This person was often referred to as Walter, though he kept insisting for him to be dubbed under the alias of, “Void.
