Christmas Tree

“Hi sorry! Are you okay?” I said, while looking to see if the store manager was angry. I actually thought I turned the whole Christmas tree store upside down. Realizing I might have just knocked over a huge load of decorations the manager took her time to make her way up to me.

“No not a problem, we will deal with it soon, I just thought you might be crazy busy” she said. I was a little nervous she said that because I thought she might be mad at me. It turned out she just thought I was very busy.

“No, I am sorry. Things are just crazy at work. I had to bring my boyfriend here since he is moving to the city I thought it would be a good idea to get him here ornaments and decorations, since he had no idea where everything was he was confused. I am terrible at decorating so I came here to make sure I could get him the right things. I am horrible with decorating.” I said worried she might think I am a poor niece and not very supportive for my poor rich uncle.

“No! Its fine! Its just I am a little panicked I don’t want to be late for work tomorrow and I know my staff is already super busy.” She said returning with a few boxes of ornaments.

“Here let me help you.” I said starting to bring the boxes over to another place.

“No don’t worry about it, I have stuff rented out for tomorrow so I really don’t have a problem.” She smiled back.

“Okay, thanks” I said. It was no problem at all.

Just after she said that, some people came in with their Christmas stuff. I didn’t know what to do. I was staring at the lights and ornaments thinking about how badly I wanted some new ones for my place, and now I am helping them buy their stuff. It turns out that the Christmas decor shop has a helping hand section where people can buy ornaments and decorations that they need. It is cheaper to buy them there than buying them separately.

“Hello, I don’t know if you help with decorations, but I really need to finish the decoration right now.” She said.

“Sorry I was day dreaming.”

“I need three more trees, and I will need a couple packages of lights.” Her daughter said, completing the order.

“That makes three trees and two packages of lights.” I told her.

“Oh, they are my own. Oh, here is a cart.” The daughter said, taking the cart over as she put the items I was bringing into it.

“Thanks, I guess it’s my turn now.” I said taking over one of the lights and ornaments.

“Any time.” She said with a smile.

“I am going to be here for the next couple hours so go ahead and help yourself.” I told her.

“Thanks again.” She said. “How is your boyfriend doing?”

“He is okay, just being a little nervous about everything.” I told her smiling. “He is a little klutz you can see that.”

“He is not a klutz.”

“Yeah, he is, he doesn’t know how to decorate some of the stuff so I am helping. I thought that you could get me some stuff to decorate my own place out of my boyfriend's shopping.” I said.

“No, don’t worry about it.” She laughed and then said.

“Also we just opened a shop filled with decorations, ornaments, and lights. We already have it ready. He probably just can’t find one that is the right price or the right thing.” She laughed.

“Oh yeah?” I said.

“Yeah. Well its 8:30 already. You should probably get back to work now.” She said.

“Yeah, I think I should get going.” I told her smiling.

“I hope everything works out for you.” She said, then she looked at me again.

“I can see it in your eyes, if something bad happened or I should just not piss you off.” She said.

“Yeah, I lost a lot of things in the store and I like to decorate.”

“Well, if you need help, I’m here to help.”

“Sorry to keep you and your daughter waiting. Its not a big deal.” I told her smiling.

“I don’t really mind. I brought some Christmas decorations to my apartment and I need help putting them on.” She said.

“Oh yeah, my friend is really bad at that. I am a real klutz.” I told her.

“No worries.” She said.

“Well I probably should get back to work now.”

“Yeah? It was nice to meet you. Hope you have a great day. I am sorry for that.”

“It’s fine.” I said as I finished decorating her trees.

“Thank you. It looks great.” She said glancing at the completed tree.

“Thank you. See you soon.” I said as I walked out of the store.
