Is this an excerpt from a journal you kept while in prison? How often did you write in it? Seems like a good technique to maintain your mental discipline and not give in to darker emotions. The showers sound awkward, to say the least. I think the hardest thing for me would be dealing with the lack of privacy. I could handle having my freedom curtailed and having to live a strictly regimented daily routine, but no privacy... man that's tough.
