My experience with the mountain!!Spoiler alert:there was some crying involved:))

in #story7 years ago

Everyone should climb a mountain at least once in their life but, take my word on this, you should prepare yourself for it!!

I always loved the mountain and when I got the opportunity to go on a hike with some friends I couldn`t resist but little did i know that I was about to embark on the most thrilling experience of my life.

Everything started with me going on a shopping spree to get everything I needed for this trip because it was my first time going on an organized hike with experienced people and look at me looking so sweet and unknowing:)

We had to get to our cabin in the woods by walking a couple of hours on a trail and of course we had to do this by day but guess what!?we ended up getting there at night and it started raining so excuse me if I don`t remember much as I was focused not to die.We had to go across a river on an improvised log bridge in pitch black night, only a few of us had flashlights,we climbed wet rocks and almost lost ourselves in the woods! At one point I highly doubt that we`ll get to the cabin in one piece but we did.

Of course we all went straight to bed !

Next morning we were all ready to explore the nature.

We got ready, packed food and water and decided on the trail that we would go.Everything was fine for the first three hours until my crazy friends decided to change the plan and go climb the most dangerous side of the mountain, but of course the rest of us didn`t knew at that point what we are getting ourselves into until we were face to face with the mountain.

And here comes the crazy part::))and I`m laughing now because I lived to tell the story and of course there will be no photos from there because that was the last thing on our mind.

At this point it`s time to say that we were divided into two teams, the professionls and the fools that had no idea what was about to happen to them and we didn`t had climbing gear.

      They are the professionlas:))

"It will be ok"they said and we begin the climb.

At first we had to walk on a really small path, wide enought for our feet to stay close side by side and then the climb begin!I was constantly thinking not to look down, only up and I did that until one of the guys that was in front said that we had to go down a bit because it was a dead end on  that way.The second I turned my head to look down to start descending the panic attack began.

I froze for a second as the abis revealed itself underneath me and my brain begin to imagine all of the scenarios that could happend  if I would make a wrong move and after that I started crying like a baby not knowing how I would get out alive from there! That good cry released all the fear inside me and probably the adrenaline kicked in  because after I stopped crying(it took about 10 looong minutes)I found the power to get up and start climbing to the top and let me tell you that in the moment I saw myself out of  harm`s way I felt like I was born again.

I wasn`t going to put myself in danger anymore so I took the long way back and belive me when I say it was long,it took 9 hours to get back to the cabin!

Next day I arrived home and my body felt like it was in a car crash,I had pain in every inch of my body and don`t get me started about my legs,I wasn`t able to walk normally for a couple of days but it felt gooood. The feeling that you get after pushing yourself past the limits is amazing,I felt strong like I never felt before!

We think that we are strong and capable to do anything if we exercise daily and we are active but out there in nature our mind and body requires a different kind of strength and after all that it remains the question?!?!

Q:Would I do it again???

A:Hell yeah!!

In fact I`m planning a trip for this spring to test myself once again!
