The Shape of Water won Best Picture at this years Oscars. So whats this movie that got 13 nominations and should you watch it.
Non Spoilers (feel free to read without me ruining any details)
The Shape of Water is an interesting movie that is both artistic and has a simple story to follow. This movies reminds of E.T. remember that short alien that Elliot was emotionally attached to, well The Shape of Water is that but with adult themes. I do not recommend you show this movie to your kids. Watch this movie if want to see an original movie that looks beautiful with an amazing color palette and music that compliments it. You get the idea why Guillermo del Toro also won for best Director because he made a movie that was beautiful to look at and portrayed his vision.
SPOILERS AHEAD
Much like Elliot and E.T. Elisa (Sally Hawkins) and The Fish Creature that you see on the poster are lonely before they meet but in this case The Fish Creature and Elisa Fall in love and you get the point. I know weird. A character I really enjoyed was Dr. Hoffstetler, He really portrayed himself as a great hero in the movie as he help Elisa freeing The Creature. Michael Shannon's character Richard was an interesting antagonist because he went through anyone to get what he wanted, he wanted to prove he can finish the job but failed.
I give it a 8/10
