Hi Ronel, the story is based on a true event from 1890s Ireland. Scattered throughout the countryside are the ruins of ancient settlements that became known as fairy circles because of the belief that they were portals to another realm. Should you trespass into one, a creature known as a changeling make send you through the portal, assume your identity, and take your place. There was a famous trial in which Michael Cleary murdered and burned his wife Bridget after he became convinced she was not the real Bridget, but a changeling. The question is: was he delusional or did he grasp onto the superstition after killing his wife for other reasons?
