Yesterday, I explored the Ulee Lheue area, the corner of Banda Aceh City, Aceh, Sumatra. This area is one of the most severely affected areas of the tsunami on 26 December 2004.
On the way, I saw an interesting mural on the ruins of a house that had been destroyed by the tsunami waves. The mural is in the form of a message, whose phrase reads, "whoever lives will surely die."
To me, this message contains an interpretation of how psychological the people of Aceh who are victims of the disaster. No regrets let alone the mental stress of the disaster. As a man who maintains his belief in the creator, the Acehnese believe that any disaster is God's will. While deaths can come in many forms, such as the tsunami disaster.
