Now the King's head wife knew this, and was very fearful that the King should find it out and fall in love with the beggar's daughter: so she went to a spiritual man and offered him money to make a potion that will make the King forget completely that the beggars daughter was his wife.
The spiritual man finally consented to carry out the wicked act after much haggling over the price. He made up some medicine which the head wife mixed with the King's food.
For some months the charm had a strong effect on the King, it made the King forget totally about the beggar's daughter, the King use to pass very close to her without recognising her in any way.
