RE: 1st Basement Flood of the Winter & Other Things I Got Up To Today

in #story7 years ago (edited)

Could you do some grading or a perimeter drain to stop this from happening? We deal with similar stuff here, especially when the ground is frozen and then it rains. I should put some gutters up but I'm afraid they would just get ripped off by sliding ice and snow in the winter. Can you keep the pump plugged in so that it just turns on when you take on water? I went away for the evening last October and had forgotten to plug the pump in after we had some insulation work done in the basement. Wouldn't you know, it turned into a freakin' pool!!! Lesson learned, the hard way, as per usual!

Our landlord has talked about all of the above hehehe!! :) :) We'll see one day...

I'm really sorry about your indoor pool!!

Oh, it's no problem now, all dried up. But, supposed to be in the 40s this weekend and maybe some rain, so we'll see what happens then. Always an adventure!
