Both of these technologies are amazing, a few days ago there was the wwdc from apple in which they showed how AR will work with their devices, they use a videogame from Lego and the truth is it all looks incredible.

Have you watched the movie called Ready player one? I highly recommend it if you like VR and AR, it is very entertaining.
