STEEMCHURCH: The Creation - Day One.

In the beginning, where there was nothing, God created the heavens and the earth.

At that time the earth was disordered and empty, many expect that the destruction to it came after the fall of the rebellious angels. The point is that things were chaos, there were no limits and no borders, the sky and the water was one, the land was arid and without fruit, there was only water. It was not habitable at all because there were no plants that created oxygen. Besides that everything was covered by darkness.

"And the Spirit of God moved on the surface of the waters." The word translated "moved" contains the idea of the hen that shelters or jealously guards its chicks. The Holy Spirit began a work there that we will see him do again and again. It is recreate. He appears in the scene and recreates, regenerates. That is precisely what he does, even now, for us.

First Day

Genesis 1: 3-5 And God said, Let there be light; and it was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning one day.

Question: "How could there be light on the first day of creation if the sun was not created until the fourth day?"

The answer is not a problem if we are able to take into account an infinite and omnipotent God. God does not need the sun, the moon and the stars to provide the light. God is light! 1 John 1: 5 states: "This is the message we have heard from him, and we announce to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him." God Himself was the light for the first three days of Creation, just as light will be in the new heavens and the new earth, Revelation 22: 5 "There will be no night there, and they do not need lamp light, nor of sunlight, because God the Lord will enlighten us, and they will reign for ever and ever." The same way the word describes that this was the afternoon and the morning of a day.

Tomorrow we continue talking about the series of brief studies about creation specifically day two.
