Did you know that the US throws away 40% of the food produced in this country every year? It is discarded in landfills to pollute the Earth.

There is no need for such waste.

Fruits that are past their prime can be made into vinegar or wine, some things can go to feed the animals, and other food can be put into the compost pile to make more Earth and grow more food.

This is part of how we achieve a negative carbon footprint at the Garden of Eden, and a key to our dank dirt that nurtures healthy plants!

YES we can all do something to make the world a better place!

I agree! Leftover food is great for jams, animal feed, worms and composting! No waste!

Exactly! A sustainable food production system can utilize everything!

It really is an incredible thing to be utilizing and alchemizing food that is to be waste into so many beneficial realities. There are layers of options we can all take to make this world a better place. This is a primo example of one such possibility. I'm grateful to see this in print!

May it inspire many!

great effort to make good environment and sustainable world for the next generation, i beleive that you have done the best part of your garden.

Oh dear so wasteful to throw away these fruits. Glad that these can be put to use to make vinager and wine for feeding the animals. Supportive of your drive. Have followed and upvoted

@jackpot

Thanks for your support!

It is spectacular as every detail is not wasted in your wonderful garden, it seems very good this way of using these fruits and vegetables because nothing is voted, because voting food is not good because there are many people in other countries that may not have not a piece of bread to eat. In that time you reuse that to make vinegars for meals for animals that many also go hungry, it seems very good on their part, today they show us another different way in which they give their contribution for a better world. I congratulate you @gardenofeden, continue with your good deeds that will be rewarded in health and happiness.

Thank you @alejo1996. In modern America it is too common for people to throw away food that is not actually expired and is still valuable as a resource. We hope to inspire people to reconsider how they value food!

Resteem and upvote. Thanks for sharing.

All your efforts for a more sustainable, less polluted world are wonderful @gardenofeden. Nothing is destroyed, everything is transformed ! Efforts should be made so that nothing is lost and many people are helped. Thanks for motivating a better world.

YES it is alchemized into a different kind of value! We hope people start to think about these things and incorporate small lifestyle changes that benefit more people and our planet.

Awesome!

I need you to teach me gardening. I've failed several years in a row to grow tomatoes. How sad is that. Once maybe a decade ago I grew a cherry tomato plant it was wonderful. I haven't gotten more than a handful since.

Maybe you need to add compost to enrich your soil.

don't waste your food, give it to someone who needs it of survive.

That is a great way to put excess food to good use.

:( oh man!
they should not throw it out, they should give it to needy.

It would be great if that ways standard practice

I know @gardenofeden never waste food, and i like it.

A better way is possible, so we live it!

You are great, when many people pollute the earth, but you take care of the earth.
thank you

We hope to inspire others to support our planet too!

a beautiful and beautiful post

Composting or using leftovers to to feed animals are great ways of using food scraps. Saves from it going to the dump, and you get to feed the animals (or plants) for free!

Exactly! Make Earth instead of trash.

So cool, I've never heard of a negative carbon footprint.

A compost pile is of creat importance at our new house when we move in a few weeks. How long does it take for the leftovers to be for to be worked into your soil?

Depends what compost method you use, some can make soil in about 2 months with lots of turning, other "set it and forget it" methods require much longer to break down

Is it not a good practice to put scraps directly in/onto the soil where your plants are?

diten eden all the fruit can be utilized, because all the full menu there, thank you for sharing @gardenofeden
