RE: Steemvoter Guild: "Nominate-a-Friend" for the Guild Vote (Sunday July 16)

in #steemvoter7 years ago (edited)

hi @steemvoter, thanks for organizing such a great competition! However would it be a better idea if we use the number of votes to determine the winners? As you may see, some comments got the votes from whales and soon reached an amount that is completely unreachable by the others. If someone knows a whale or is a friend of a whale, basically he can dominate the game.

Besides, a lot of people were using bots such as randowhale, minnowbooster etc to win the game. I think it is a better idea to exclude those votes for a fair game.

Sort:

I agree that the system is not perfect, but the number of votes is not a good solution either. Anyone can go out and make hundreds of accounts. You can even buy accounts instantly now for just 10 SBD. Totally agree with you that the system is not ideal, but no idea how to fix it either...

I noticed the booster bots too... I agree those should be excluded.

how about counting the number of votes made by accounts which have a certain SP or above, say 500 SP? This should eliminate the problem of creating fake accounts

But then it takes away the voice of the smaller users, it is a problem we haven't easily solved yet.

but now the voice of small users (like me) is nearly zero, coz our voting power is too small to compete with the whales... so not much difference
but for those who use bots, can you disqualify them? this should be no doubt
