When the western part of the USA was being settled, Independence, Missouri was often the starting place for the wagon trains heading west

the train that looks unique to mom @ melinda010100.

Have the train parts of US history been used?

This is in a museum. I believe it was a real wagon and items to show us what was used by people who traveled to the Western part of the USA in the mid 1800's

how cool is the train I like the train and I haven't seen the train in aceh yet.

It is an interesting part of our history.

Very nice image @melinda010100. I took a photo of a photo at the bank

Thanks Jerry. if you read the rules you would see that you do not have to be a member of a group to post a picture, but I think it did have to be in on Monday.

Woah! I am getting some Indiana Jones vibe in this.
Great photo!

Thanks! The man that the Indiana Jones character was patterned after was Roy Chapman Andrews and he was a professor at the college just the next town over from me. He was quite an adventure and I've always found it fascinating that there was some truth to the Indy character

Interesting thing to now. Does it mean that the supernatural is possible? I have always secretly wished for supernatural to be true lol.

There are certainly plenty of things we don't understand!

Thanks! The scenery on the wall is a painted mural but the wagon and all of the items are real and a part of the display. I edited the photo and that makes it look more like a painting, doesn't it?

very beautiful, like the original painting, a good soul

I just had an opportunity again to look at old wagons and can only admire the people who set out on such a long journey. Admire for that - there is so much to be said about taking the land and settling it and displacing the First Nation People.... But then again, I am here too... 😯

I have a hard time imagining an entire society believing that it was just ok to slaughter everything and everybody that was in their way.

Agreed. But I feel we still do a lot of it. Maybe not as blatant but life is not equal for everyone - that is for sure...

I couldn't agree more. When will we ever learn.....

That's very cool, like a bit of time travel :)
