WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING TO STEEMIT!

in #steemtrail8 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemit! I am so discouraged, frustrated and confused as to what is happening here at Steemit. I believe we all came to this site to try and make money, however for the past several days I feel we are all writing our blogs for nothing. I'm fairly new and try my best to make the most creative post I can. But when I spend 4 to 5 hours on a post about my cooking and after 2 days I have made $2.00, really???? I'm not saying that blogs that are just thrown on Steemit with no content should receive the same amount of upvotes, but this is getting ridiculous. Everyday I go through every post and read and upvote and resteem as to how I enjoyed that post, but people this isn't working. I'm going to give you an example and I hope the
member doesn't mind me using their name. 14 hours ago I looked at a post @naganoo in reptilians, they received 2279 upvote but made a total of $2.62, REALLY!!!!!

I would like to say to whomever came up with this idea to maybe wake up and smell the coffee. Steemit is great but if something doesn't change this way things are being controlled by certain whales, your going to start losing a lot of us small minnows. As I see it know your making us squirm for dollars. The amount of time alone it takes to make one post never mind 4 post and make absolutely nothing for my time WHY??????? Mu suggestion is Whales maybe start upvoting again to save the world of Steemit! If anyone else out there feels the same, please voice your concerns and please do it soon. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!!

its about power of accounts not number of votes

I'm sorry to learn that "its about power of accounts not number of votes". At first, when I decided to join Steemit, I think everyone is equal and every vote is valuable. I love Steemit because of this and I was really happy every time I came here for writing my own articles, reading other articles, upvoting other articles, etc. But, now I'm very confused and this feeling discourages me to write any articles or post any pictures at Steemit for the time being .....

nope this is not a communism spot, people are not equal.
also i want to tell you noganoo has like 2k accounts himself ;)

I didn't mean "a communism spot", but I think everyone is equal by "democracy" way..... That's just my feeling.....and this makes me feel upset....and really hurt.

(p.s. I have no comment about noganoo's account and don't have any idea how he could do like that...)

Believe me, he owns all of those. And i dont mean it in bad way - he knew how to do it, he did it.

It seems unbelievable, but I believe you..... Thank you very much for your prompt reply to my question regarding this matter. I highly appreciate for your kindness and feel better now....

hi there, I understand how you feel. there are two different questions actually: 1) if every account represents one real person (even considering that one might sell his real account to others), should we have a more democratic rule? I will say yes, but this is a big if as it is still a huge hurdle to the digital world. 2) if it is not so, then people like noganoo can create so many accounts (according to kingscrown), a democracy is then undesirable or just pointless. So the system is so designed to encourage users to concentrate their stakes and free from abuse.

generally I agree with the spirit of democracy, it is good for social media. but meanwhile we need to acknowledge that any organization cannot be fully democratic if the member of it does not require any "proof of concern" - whether the concern can be 100% represented by your share, it is debatable. :)

stay. and see what happens next. :)

Thank you very much for your clarification and I much appreciate for your kind concern on this matter....

If it is the case, then the system could be fixed about the problem and find best solution on the matter.

But, the main point that I feel upset is that it is "robot" that downvoted my posts and other posts....and not human at all.

From my own experience in the past, I received downvote from the keyman of Steemit (one of a developer), at that time my reward downvote from approx. $30 to apporx. $ 10, but I accepted his downvote because he gave me his reason and I replied to him that I respected his opinion! But this time, it's only a robot who did it without reading the articles...... this point that I feel upset.

And if the system could be fixed and proof that those accounts are from each person (human and not robot). I'm still happy if everyone is equal.

Anyway, I will stay and see what happens next..... Thanks so much for your kindness!

@happyhousewife I'm sorry you feel this way but you are not alone.
Bear some more .. it's just a rough road now but it could get better. Keep the faith and hold on!
Just keep posting and focus on what you want ;)

Thank you. I'm just taking a few days off maybe

That noganoo account is an anomaly. He created about 2000 accounts, and used them all to vote for himself. It seems to have been some kind of a test to see if he could get around the system that should only allow one account per person/phone#. I think that the bug he discovered has now been fixed.

Oh ok. Thanks

I do agree, but it also depends on the other users. They might not read your posts because they are busy writing their own. Upvoting does depend on other peoples' opinions too. But yes, I do agree a lot.

I understand that. Thank you have a great day. @timehop I will follow you

well, maybe you should put the same posts up on your own hosted blog or maybe facebook and see what they make in say 48 hours?

I will but I'm not on facebook Thanks

I think you know full well, that you wont be making anything. So why are you complaining about what you do make on this platform?
