Normally, we heard that radiation term usually to mean anything that potentially damaging coming from a nuclear power plant. What people worried is when the power plant is about to explode, then it will release the radiation. But, we don’t know what is leaking. Now back to our topic, about the confusion between the radiation and the radioactive atoms.
Material that radiates out from nucleus that we call it as a nuclear radiation and it makes sense. Actually it can do damage to your molecules and cells in your body. For examples, an object which is release Beta particles then we use a Geiger Muller counter which it can makes click when it get by radiation to spot the Beta particles that release from this object. When we hear sound from the GM counter, then we will get the source is realizing Beta particles, when GM counter remove away from the object the radiation will quickly falls off a lot of this radiation. A lot of radiation can’t really pass through the air.
What make we worried is like coming out from the nuclear plant. Probably Alpha particles really using the Alpha part of us , it can’t get that far. If the radiation cannot go very far, what we’re worry about it. The truth is we’re worried about the radiation itself and the radioactive atoms that it release. We’re worry about the stuff in the power plant because as we know that at the power plant area there is a lot of radioactive atoms that can be release and escape into the atmosphere, it will move through the environment. When there is an explosion and those radioactive atoms will be spread into the atmosphere. It can go through over hundred of kilometres and it also can coat everything with this radioactive dust.
When you breath, the radioactive is delivered directly to cells and then it can cause damage to your molecule in body. This can lead health many problems, so it’s not really radiation that we’re worried about the directly seeping through the walls of the nuclear power plants. The radioactive object that have radioactive atoms inside that we’re worried about when it escaping and it will harm us.

Biasanya, kita mendengar bahawa istilah radiasi biasanya bermaksud apa-apa yang berpotensi merosakkan dan ia datang dari loji tenaga nuklear. Apa yang orang bimbang adalah apabila loji nuklear akan meletup, maka ia akan melepaskan radiasi. Tetapi, kita tidak tahu apa yang bocor. Sekarang kembali ke topik kami, mengenai kekeliruan antara radiasi dan atom radioaktif.
Bahan yang memancar dari nukleus yang kita panggil sebagai sinaran nuklear. Sebenarnya ia boleh melakukan kerosakan pada molekul dan sel-sel anda. Sebagai contoh, objek yang melepaskan zarah Beta kemudian kami menggunakan kaunter Geiger Muller yang boleh membuatkan bunyi klik apabila mendapat radiasi untuk melihat zarah Beta yang melepaskan dari objek ini. Apabila kita mendengar bunyi dari kaunter GM, maka kita akan mendapat sumber yang menyedari zarah beta. Apabila kita mengalihkan objek yang mengeluarkan radiasi itu, kiraan GM akan jatuh dengan cepat. Secara amnya radiasi tidak dapat menembusi udara.
Apa yang membuat kita bimbang adalah apabila radiasi itu keluar dari loji nuklear Zarah Alpha benar-benar menggunakan bahagian Alpha , ia tidak boleh sampai jauh. Sekiranya radiasi tidak boleh pergi jauh, ia tidak akan membimbangkan kita. Sebenarnya kita bimbang tentang radiasi itu sendiri dan atom radioaktif yang melepaskannya. Kita prihatin tentang barangan di loji nuklear itu kerana seperti yang kita ketahui bahawa di kawasan loji kuasa terdapat banyak atom radioaktif yang dapat melepaskan dan menyebar ke atmosfera, ia akan bergerak terus alam sekitar. Apabila terdapat letupan dan atom-atom radioaktif akan tersebar ke atmosfera. Ia boleh melalui lebih daripada 100 KM dan ia boleh melapisi segala-galanya dengan debu radioaktif ini.
Apabila anda menarik nafas, radioaktif dihantar terus ke sel anda dan kemudian ia boleh menyebabkan kerosakan pada molekul anda di dalam badan. Ini boleh membawa banyak masalah kesihatan kepada kita, jadi sinaran itu tidak membimbangkan kita sebenarnya. Apa yang kita bimbang adalah tentang radiasi yang meresap secara langsung melalui dinding loji janakuasa nuklear. Objek radioaktif yang mempunyai atom radioaktif di dalamnya, kita bimbang apabila ia tersebar dan ia akan membahayakan kesihatan tubuh badan kita.
