Individuals who practice veganism are referred to as vegans. These individuals do not eat produce from land or sea animals.
Veganism is the abstinence from animal products especially in diet. It entails embracing plant related produce. Veganism is based on the premises that animal agriculture is environmentally unsustainable and also causes animal suffering.
The focus of this article is on the environmental unsustainablility aspect.
Animal agriculture is the rearing of animals primarily for food production such as meat, eggs etc. Animal agricultural practice is one of the major factors causing destruction of our environment.
How Veganism Practice Saves The Environment.
1. Global Warming:

Scientifically it's proven that animal agriculture accounts for an average of 50% of global green house gases emitted into the environment causing global warming. Global warming has the following negative effects;
Extreme weather conditions where wet places becomes more wetter and dry places becomes more dryer.
Rising sea level above sea bank which threatens low land coastal areas.
Destruction of agricultural lands for crop production.
Unlike animal agriculture, the cultivation of plants acts as absorption sink for green house gas like carbon dioxide.
2. Threat to Water Sustainability:

Animal agricultural practice consumes excessive water on daily basics. This include using water for feeding animals, cleaning animal farming equipment and cultivating of animal feed crops.
It's scientifically proven that a single cow consumes 50 gallons of water daily and 100 gallons of water daily during hot weather condition. Unlike in plant production, very moderate amount of water is required. Also plant such as Water Hyacinth plays a role in water conservation and purification.
3. Land Depreciation:

Excessive plots of land are consumed for rearing of animals. The following are ways in which animal farming causes land depreciation.
Forest land are been degraded of its natural elements such as trees exposing the land floor to adverse environmental effects such as desertification.
Large amount of waste is produced from animal agricultural practice on daily basis which is more than waste generated than human on daily basis. This waste consumes much portion of land space for sustainable land use.

Call To Action:

We cannot totally eliminate the adverse effects of animal farming on our environment neither can we totally eliminate animal agricultural practice, but we all can play a role by joining vegans in promoting more or veganism practice and less dependence on animal produce.
Many sources, when doing quick fact checking state differently. As well, excessively large plots of land are used for crops as well which also release their own GHG's. I am not saying that crops are worse (they are better) but implying that roughly 50% of GHG's are scientifically proven to come from agriculture... I mean using USA for a benchmark, roughly 9% of its GHG's come from agriculture1. Yes that number will fluctate country to country, however the US is a major producer of GHG's (along with places like China) and with minimal extrapolation you can deduce that Agriculture would very very likely be below the number provided. More is wrong in this post too, I just wanted to clear this up for future readers.
