PROJECT ON ''SPEED BOAT''

in #steemstem6 years ago

Hi my fellow steemians, it has been a long time of me not posting electrical stuff in this
platform. Now I am coming up with an unfinished project, which I have been working on before I was introduced to this platform. The project was on the construction of a speed boat which it's direction can be altered or controlled. As a matter of fact I have been working on it for the past last year, although it isn't wireless because of my limited knowledge in making it wireless.

MATERIALS USED FOR CONSTRUCTION

•Flat wood
•2 DC. Motor
•Superglues
•Pairs of wire (red and black paired together)
•Rubber band
•Scissors

PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTION

i) Firstly I cut a piece of wood 15cm long and 8cm wide.

ii) And also I cut the wood also seperatly into parts to match the design of the boat.

iii) In the back of the boat, fixed my DC motor which I insulated with some piece of wood, so as to prevent water entering the motor.

iv) I made a construction on the back of the
boat to ensure that it's balance on the water 💧.

v) on the top of the boat,i constructed a pole with I attached on the top an Led light 💡.

vi) I constructed a object which I attached it to the first motor and to the blade motor. So that when I control the direction of the first motor it will also control the direction of the blade motor.

vii) I connected the terminals of the DC motors and the led lights to a pin out so I can attach the remote pins to them to ensure their easy controls. IMG_20180409_082546.jpg

PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTION
IMG_20180409_082453.jpg|IMG_20180409_082609.jpg
My purpose of construction was to test my creativity skills. And to try enlarge my knowledge and ideas in the electrical fields.
OBSERVATIONS

i observe that the more the failure I experienced in this construction the more I learn new easier tactic in making that same construction.

ADVICE TO ALL WORKING ON HIS/HER PROJECT

i as a person was never taught electronic or construction by any one with knowledge on that field. Right from my teenager age I loved technology, I am eager to learn but I don't have any to teach me. I did no construction projects in my secondary and primary school because of our limited resources, but still I loved technology. Some might think that it's a lie, but seriously it's the truth. I was inspired by the technology in some films like IRON MAN and J.I JOE and so many others, so I tell myself if they produce this type of advanced technology why can't I make it also. So I strived for knowledge using social media and questions I asked to people with the knowledge of science. I came to know how to apply devices, components (resistors, capacitors etc) when I entered Oko polytechnic. So what I am saying is that, whenever you were giving a project to handle or to get done, keep on pressing to get done no matter the failure which may occur during the process.
ABOUT THE PROJECT

This speedboat I made it is not yet complete. I haven't made the remote yet neither tested it if it will work properly, but I have tested it with battery not the remote and it worked perfectly well.

i did my first wireless RC boat using the already existing remote controller and receiver of an old RC car i had !! i was 15 years old !! try finding a scrap RC device with its remote and remove the circuit and put it in your boat !! below my boat and how i built it !! :)File 12419.jpgFile 12410.jpgFile 12408.jpgFile 12415.jpgFile 12440.jpg

It is wonderful although I tried but you did yours perfect than mine. Maybe you can teach me how to make a more outstanding speedboat with a control

well it should not be hard to do !! once you've got the circuit from an old RC car you just need to connect things together !! just open your broswer and search for some guides to build RC boat and you will find plenty guides !!

Hi ! I just have few questions : how did you insulate the motors ? And how did you get to this hull design?
Anyway, enjoy your project and don't hesitate to give more details in your next articles ;) (I'm interested in the iterations of the design, how you preferred to take one solution over another, try to explain the science behind what you saw)

Very beautiful work you have there sir! Nicely done. But as someone rightly noted, it would be nicer if you gave us more details. You can join the steemstem community on discord to learn more about how to create quality content under the steemSTEM tag.

Awesome work. Brought memories of days I was passionate with hands on mini engr projects like this. I made alot of moving cars with different mechanisms. Tried making an helicopter too.

These days, I've kinda lost my zeal. More of the computer guy now

You could have given more in-depth details tho. Well-done.
