Hi, I am not at all skeptical about the benefit of salt. I agree that there are different types of salt and that some may be more beneficial than others.
Where I disagree with what you are saying:
Ocean water does not contain the same substances as plasma. Sure it has some of the same, but it is missing many
Armed forces medics do not inject trauma victims with ocean water - they use sterile normal saline solution, or a colloid based solution, or both
I also watched a bit of the video, but it is too long. The most enlightening part for me was the very long disclaimer, which is basically saying that you should always consult your physician and that you should in now way take what he says in the video to mean you can ignore standard evidence-based medicine. This is good, it would be terrible if a cancer patient who could otherwise be saved with the latest available therapy was swayed into thinking that a bit of salt will also do the trick
Cheers, and thanks for engaging in the article!
holbein81 Thank for not being ignorant for the fact that you took the time to explore. Regardless the disagreement I appreciate people like you. Just to make clear that it does sound stupid for me to say ocean water is like blood plasma. And of course doctors in the army has more advance options these days. In desperate situation when there is no alternative using ocean water will not make things worse in my opinion keeping in mind that I am no were close to be a doctor.
Finally Than you for a such a respectful conversation.
