Years ago, this kind of dark matter was a general alternative to particle dark matter, then later, years of work revealed that most sizes of these larger dark matter objects would disintegrate the Universe in some way, leaving it unique than the true Universe that we experience

However, I would like to add that anything that is not excluded is still permitted. And primordial black holes as dark matter is still allowed by data (even if not that favored).
