Ok. You need to calm down. I know you are angry and rightly so. We all need each other, people just need to have the right orientation. Steemit is a win-win for everyone, be it investors, authors or whatsoever. I understand that those contributing little seems to be the ones with the biggest sense of entitlement. We can't give up because of such people.

Exactly! It's a win-win. And just imagine how big win it could be if at some point steem is worth 10$.
And not a single person should give up, but you have seen the results of pressure yesterday on Discord.
The people who started the whole story got sick of their own idea.
That is fundamentaly wrong
Of course we shouldn't give up - we should just get rid of the people referred to in this post, because they're not contributing, neither they ever will.
