Greetings friends of #steemit today I bring a very interesting topic about the fascinating world of insects. If you choose an insect at random, there is a good chance that it is a beetle. This is because beetles are the most successful insects on earth. Until today, scientists have identified almost 400,000 species, some barely visible to the naked eye, while others are as large as an adult's hand. Adult beetles have a very hard body and sturdy legs, but their main feature are their hardened hind wings that act as a cover. With this protection they can climb in all kinds of places in search of food.
Beetles are part of the Order of Coleoptera, the largest order of insects, with 37% of all species known in the world of insects. They live in all terrestrial habitats and also in fresh water. Many especially hunters and sapofragos, feed at night.
Tender Giant
With up to 100 g (4 oz) of weight, almost three times bigger than a mouse, the Goliath beetle is the heaviest insect in the world. Like most beetles, this tropic monster has hardened front wings (elytra) that protect the delicate hind wings. When flying, the elitros open but only the rear wings are beaten. Goliath eats flowers and has a small head with stubby mouth regions. It has strong legs that end in hooked feet.

The Colors of the Beetles
Many beetles are jet black, but some have captivating colors. This Leaf scarab, from Southeast Asia, is iridescent, with a metallic sheen, some beetles shine as a piece of gold, while others have stripes or bright spots, warning predators that they are dangerous if eaten. Wasp beetles have a marked black and yellow design, a combination that makes other animals believe they can sting.

Predator Beetle
Like many beetles, ladybugs hunt live prey. They feed on aphids and mites, devouring dozens a day. Their jaws are small but sharp and turn the food into a sticky paste. The aphids move slowly, so the ladybugs catch it easily. Other predatory beetles include land eaters, which prey on faster prey and need to be fast. These reach speeds of up to 9km / h (6 m / h).

Saprophagous Beetle
The scarab of the darkness is a typical sopeophagous that goes out to eat at night. It lives on the remains of animals and plants, and small live animals. Soprophagous beetles collect all kinds of natural waste, which helps to break down nutrients so that they can be used by plants again and again. Indoors, they cause problems because they eat stored food.

Hervíboro beetle
With its long snout with tiny jaws at the tip, this weevil drills seeds. It is one of thousands of beetles that live on vegetable food. Some attack plants from the outside, but many beetles puncture them and lodge inside, so they are surrounded by food. Phytophagous beetles are not always bad for plants. Several visit the flowers and pollinate them.

Beetle Metamorphosis
Beetles develop by complete metamorphosis, which means that they change shape as they grow. Like most insects, they begin their life as eggs. This group of eggs have little age. The larvae are barely visible through the shell and will soon be ready for hatching.

I hope this interesting article has been liked by all of you, an insect with an infinity of species that deserves by far to be the most successful of all and by much to have the honor of being presented to you, thanks for the support.
This was a fun read!
And that insect from the second pic was huge.
I thought that cockroaches were the most successful insects :P
Hello, such, if it's huge, it's called Goliath, it's bigger than a mouse. I thought the same thing but when I did the research, I realized that it was not like that. Thank you for reading
Didnt know that beetles have this diversity..!! Some of them are kind of pretty too..!! 😃
