Achieving the title of Champions of Africa is not easy, at all. And, they have to play against very good teams like Nigeria and Ghana, who also have great players and top of the line trainers. So, with this being said, we can assure that a team like this, in their best condition will play a good game of soccer. For this meeting, their coach Ange Postecoglou will surely employ a formation a little more defensive that allows him to resist the attacks of the faster African players, and thus, avoid possible counterattacks where they could be outperformed in speed by the Cameroonian laterals. With this being said, it is very possible that he may use the formation that he used in the previous match with 3 central and 4 midfielders (3-4-2-1), or an even more defensive one like (3-5-2) in detriment of his favorite (4-3-3) or (4-2-3-1), that he has used throughout the world cup qualifiers and the previous, Asian Cup.

El equipo de Australia luego de haber perdido en forma muy ajustada su primer encuentro contra la favorita del grupo, la selección de Alemania, busca de obtener un resultado favorable que los haga pensar en poder avanzar a los cuartos de final de la competición. Los jugadores demostraron quizás no un gran dominio y técnica del balón en la primera fecha de la copa confederaciones pero si una gran voluntad por demostrar su valia como campeones de la copa de Asia.

Para este encuentro su técnico Ange Postecoglou seguramente empleara una formación un poco más defensiva que le permita resistir la embestida de los rápidos jugadores africano y asi evitar un posible contragolpe donde serían superados en velocidad por los volantes cameruneses. Por lo que es posible que mantenga la formación empleada en el partido anterior con 3 centrales y 4 volantes (3-4-2-1) en detrimento de su favorita la 4-3-3 o 4-2-3-1.
