The Diego Costa transfer fiasco has finally culminated with the Spanish striker moving back to his former club, Atletico Madrid. The 28 year old will be moving back to his former club when the transfer window opens yet again in January.
Costa’s wages will be somewhere around the same £150,000 a week mark at the Spanish club as well. Even though the clubs have officially confirmed the transfer of the player, the actual amount being paid by the La Liga side has not been quoted yet.
Reports suggest that the Spaniard will be snapped up by Atletico for around £57.5 million with the fee rising up to €65 million after considering the add-ons as well. Chelsea have managed to rake in a profit from the Costa deal as they purchased the flamboyant forward for £32 million back in 2014.
The 28 year old returns to Madrid having won two Premier League titles with the London side and a League Cup as well. While there is no doubting the ability of the physical and imposing striker, there are still doubts over his fitness. Costa will also be able to play in the Champions League for his new club as Chelsea did not include him in their Champions League squad.
Costa has not been involved in a professional match since the last season and was even left out of the Spanish national team in the most recent international break where Spain played in the World Cup qualifiers. But Atletico would not mind that as Costa has time till January to get into shape and get match fit at the same time.
The Madrid-based club is enduring a transfer ban which prevents them from registering new players till January. As a result, Costa will officially move to Atletico when the transfer window opens in about two months’ time.

Conte's reaction be like
Welcome back to La Liga Santander !!
Diego Costa's presence again is a blessing for Atletico Madrid fans, why not, because before he moved to Chelsea in 2014 and then he is one of the striker who hungry goal at the Club.
Although he can only strengthen the team in the second half of this season, after undergoing a transfer window emborsing januari later.
However, his presence will certainly boost the club's position to always compete in the final standings with Barcelona and Real Madrid.
We look forward to it ..
Your write up is impressive. Followed @steemsports
£57m for a player in Chelsea's scrapheap anyway? The guy hasn't played for almost 3 months - ridiculous!
I think he shouldn't abandon this team never.. Same as Filipe Luis.
Great article!I love your blogs @rajat97 @shrey ! Keep the amazing work going!
Costa has taken the right decision!Wish him best of luck for Madrid! Good post guys!
As a Chelsea supporter, I think he has more than played his part in the two Premier League trophies at Stamford Bridge. I'm a bit saddened to see him depart as he brought strength to the forward line. The whole text scandal was a bit uncalled for and should have been dealt with a little more sensibility by all the parties involved. I would like to wish him all the best for his future!
