A deal which has been rumored ever since it became evident Sanchez would join Manchester United finally came through today as Arsenal announced that they have completed the capture of former Manchester United man Mkhitaryan in a deal which sees Alexis Sanchez go the other way to join Manchester United.
Mkhitaryan had this to say about his move to Arsenal “I’m very happy that we could finish this deal and I’m very happy to be here. It’s a dream come through because I’ve always dreamed of playing for Arsenal. Now that I’m here, I’ll do my best for this club to create history.” Wenger also spoke about his new signing “Henrikh is a very complete player. He creates chances, he defends well, he can absorb distances and he’s very committed as well. I must say he’s a player who has all the attributes.
Mkhitaryan made a total of 39 appearances for his previous club Manchester United, scoring a total of 5 goals. He was part of the Europa League winning team, won the Carabao Cup and also the Community Shield against then EPL Champions Leicester City.
The arrival of Mkhitaryan with the potential arrival of Aubameyang from Dortmund will mean the reunion of the amazing duo that thrived well together while at Dortmund. There are already so many speculations as to how Wenger will incorporate all these players into his starting XI. When Wenger was asked how he will fit Mkhitaryan and Ozil into the same team, he simply said “Just play the good players! They can always play together.” “There’s always life. Arsenal Football Club is 130 years old and many big players have left. Will it go a bit less good? We will see. But there is always life afterward.” Wenger had this to say when asked about Alexis’ departure.
Mkhitaryan will wear the number 14 jersey for Arsenal and will be available for selection in Arsenal’s next game against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium in the Carabao Cup. It will be important for him to settle down as quickly as possible and try to regain his confidence and return to his blistering form. At age 29, he still has a lot to offer to his new team and as he said, he desires to help the team win so many games and trophies. Arsenal is still in the running for the Europa League and also the Carabao Cup. They were eliminated from the FA Cup, thanks to their humbling defeat in the hands of Nottingham Forest and the English Premier League race is all but over for them.
Maybe Mhkitqryan can finally fulfil his potential at arsenal, to be fair he has had his moments when he played to mauntd by he simply wasn't consistent enough.
Not much of a view from the side of manchester united or sanchez
I like this sports thanks..
awesome pictures
Thanks :)
Really great signing for Arsenal, I'm a little jealous as I'd have liked him to play for Liverpool instead.
Aubameyang if they get him will be a big boost too.
In my opinion, i feel what Liverpool needs to focus on this time is their defensive issues. A new keeper, a new center back, a defensive midfielder and probably an experienced wing back. They don't need to go for attacking players yet.
Yes I agree completely, maybe they can do without the defensive midfielder as they have Naby Keita arriving in the summer. But definitely need a quality goalkeeper, another centre back and full back with experience.
If Aubameyang could join him in Arsenal, then the team can be better. I can't really say signing Mkhitaryan is good news since it involved losing Sanchez. Arsenal isn't a top team anymore.
I agree, Aubameyang will be a major boost to Arsenal. It will boost the confidence of fellow Arsenal players and also instill fear in oppositions. Let's just hope the deal goes through this January.
I am a Man Utd Fan, honestly I won't say I am sad he is leaving, he had some good games but he is not top quality according to me.
I think Mourinho is not the manager best suited to getting the best out of him. I believe he'll do better at Arsenal.
Saying that I also don't think Sanchez is either, it is an odd decision for him to choose United. Obviously they offered him more money and I can't blame him for that but I don't think he'll be as successful there as he'd have been at City.
I agree with you about Alexis Sanchez, not suitable for United same as Mkhitaryan. But anyway I want to see him play first and then I will comment his performance, so let's see what he can do. About Mourinho well I disagree, ok maybe he talks too much, but I think he has managerial skills for sure. United after Sir Alex had terrible bosses, that destroyed the team and now someone must rebuild it, I think Mourinho can achieve that!
I agree with you. His major motivation was money. If not, it's easy to go to City and secure the League with them rather than moving to a United side that don't really yet have what it takes to secure top spot.
But we can't blame a man for making his decision. Various things serves as motivating factors for us as human.
