Finally The Chicken Has Come Back To Roast As Robin Van Persie Rejoins His Boyhood Club Feyenood Rotterdam

Robin Van Persie is back to his boyhood club Feyenood after a successful soccer career in Europe. A club that he started his footballing career with.

He made his first senior debut with the club in 2001-2002 season which made him saw their victor in the 2002 UEFA Cup Final. He was also named as the Dutch Football Talent of the year.

After spending five years at Feyenood as a professional footballer , he signed for English side Arsenal FC in the year 2004 for a fee believed to be around £2.75 million. At Arsenal, he won the FA Cup and FA Community Shield in the 2004 and 2005 season. He scored a club record of 35 goals in 2011 season which won him the captain for the 2011 and 2012 season.

He later went on and signed for another English club, Manchester United in the 2012/2013 season for a fee believed to be around £24 million. In his first season at Manchester United (2012/2013), he won the English Premier league with the Old Trafford Reds and won the premier league highest goal scorer with a record of 26 goals to his name making it a second time he is winning the golden boot award. At Man United, he suffered series of injuries which deprived him from playing regular football.

He represented the Netherlands in the 2014 FIFA world cup where he scored a fantastic flying header against Spain which gave him the nickname (The Flying Dutchman)

He later went ahead and signed for Turkish side Fenerbahçe in the summer of 2015 on a fee believed to be around £4.7 million. In his first season at Fenerbahçe, he player regular football but subsequent seasons saw him battling with injuries.

In January 2018, he joined his boyhood club Feyenood on a free tranfer from Fenerbahçe.

Robin Van Persie represented Netherland in the FIFA under-17, under-19 and under-21 levels, he played his senior debut in the year 2005 in a friendly against Romania, he scored his first international goal in a 4-0 win against Finland. He has over 100 caps for Netherlands and scored about 50 goals at international level.
He is married to a Moroccan lady with two kids.

He has joined the like of Dirk Kuyt who also started his footballing career with Feyenood Rotterdam but retired last year. Does it mean that Robin Van Persie is at the verge of retiring as a professional footballer?
