Most people would laugh at these pieces I poured, but I'm proud. They aren't perfect but they are beginning to resemble actual shapes. Now that the weather has warmed up it seems to be pouring better. And I'm also starting to think this is .925 like @theb3ar had mentioned. I bought this shot many years ago from a Jeweler friend. Makes sense for it to be .925. I'll take it up to the LCS and have them test it for me.
Here is what I poured today. All pieces are between .49 and .84 troy ounces.
I think this was a bigger help than the weather. It's an extension hose for my torch head. Even with the tip that says it worked inverted, it would spit liquid gas when turned upside down.
This is me modeling it with my new belt holder for the gas. 😂

I would say it looks like 925 also. You will look like the man with that belt holder on and a tank of mapp gas on your side. : ) Great job on the bars.
Thanks. I'm hoping it will get easier when I get some .999.
Congrats bro! Yeah they’re probably.925. It’s a good thing though, sterling is much harder to pour so 999 should be a breeze. Keep it up, try covering the pour after and see if it helps you. Covering 999 doesn’t work for me but I’ve seen people cover sterling and they get smoothness on the pieces. Great job✌🏻
Maybe not cover it if you’re pouring in graphite.
When you mentioned it looked like .925 it got me thinking. Why would a jeweler be using .999? Good to hear that .925 is harder to pour, I was having a hell of a time with it coming out smooth at all. I am pouring into Graphite right now. I may melt some old generic rounds and see what happens. Thanks for stopping by!
Very cool! Sound like you do have 925
You guys make it look so much easier. Some day I hope to make some cool stuff like you.
This is dixiesilvergirl, Thank you, the miner has been using a torch and working metal for over 30 years, his pipe fitting is art too, lol I really enjoyed the pour I did and have to make some time to do it again, but it is so much harder then it looks when you watch it lol
It takes time and I can say I haven't poured 925 I have only seen others. It's not easy. You are doing great! Keep pouring!
Good to hear about the .925. I was wondering why it seemed so hard. Thanks for the kind words.
I've tried my hand at pouring as well, it's really fun and I plan on doing it more.
I think you did fine, I used .999 and my work wasnt much better lol, the guys do make it look easy but there's a lot to it.
btw, in my experience It's way easier with Mapp which comes in the yellow tank.
I can't wait to try .999. I thought that's what this was. Hopefully it will be easier. Thanks for stopping by @raddog.
Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold
Thanks @ssg-community!
Very cool! Sounds like you do have 925 , and yes 999 is easier, thanks for sharing and keep on pouring!
Really cool, practice runs looks good. That pic is too funny.
I got a good laugh when I saw it. I guess practice makes perfect. Thanks for stopping by.
Very nice, i like the bottom left one. ❄️
Cool. Thanks for stopping by. I'll have more poured pieces coming up.
Those cars are looking better than the ones I tried! Some of those buttons look pretty legit man!
Thanks @armshippie. I'm starting to get a nice pile of these. I'm going to make an update post after I try some .999
