Kew Gardens 50p - Coin Hunt

Ok, these arn't silver but quite a cool collection, recently the Royal mint have been releasing coin hunt albums for various UK demominations, this is the 50p collection of circulated coins, they arn't all in the best condition but the album is complete from coins collected from loose change including the infamous Kew Gardens design that is the lowest minted with 210,000 released and can fetch over 100x its face value

There are so many unique and cool 50p designs released it is a shame Royal Mint did not look further ahead to make this collection inclusive of every previous design and any make them an ongoing collection for all future releases, it has ended with the amazing 2017 Sir Issac Newton design, one of the smartest 50p's there is. I do love how these sets make coin collecting main stream and they get far more people into this very cool hobby, hopefully they will be a gateway drug for a new generation of stackers and silver coin collectors

This set may only be minted in old cupro knickers with a total face value of £13 but complete will fetch over £100 so not to be scoffed at, i do feel there are far more people collecting UK coins than there used to be as getting a unique design in your change has become very rare, even my girlfriend who doesnt collect coins wont part with the Peter Rabbit or Squirel Nutkin.

Ive been collecting 50p's for about 6 months now, all out of my own change. I think im up to about 20 different ones now. I find it quite enjoyable hunting them down.

Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold

nice collection. I got the first books a few years back. The books themselves sell for around £30-40 on eBay and the completer metals that costs under a fiver sell for around the same price. The books are the only thing you can buy from the royal mint that will grow in value, haha

And the Kew gardens coin is the only one im needing to finished my book off. I cant pay £40-50 for 50p

lol, yea the books are the only good investments the RM do, ive just been marvelling at the new Royal Wedding silver proof coin and wondering who in their right mind would pay £82.50 for a coin that would struggle to sell for £30! But yea £40+ for a base metal 50p coin with a mintage over 200k, the insanity of the human race will be fun when silver is in season :)

That is a good idea to bring more people to numismatics. Like was the State Quarters in US.

I currently have the 2009 brilliant uncirculated coin set on my stall which includes the Kew gardens and all the two pound coins are common errors where the inscription on the edge is all inverted. This makes it highly sought after after and rather unique due to the mules
