@thedamus Drat 60%? I recall a little coin club (NSNS) had a little blurb on the 1967 Mackerel dime. 1967 Mackerel dimes made in 1966 were 80% silver, 1967 Dimes made in 1967 were made 50% silver and its hard to distinguish them unless you had a Metal Analyzer. Similar with 1968 dimes made late in 1967 were 50% silver with the 1968 dimes made in 1968 were not silver however a Magnet test will spot the difference. Hey @mikegpo , can you verify?

I got lots of these Mackerels in my stack and I recall the discussion on this strange aberration with mintage numbers that were published in the Charlton Canadian coin guide. I don't have a copy of this guide but I think Mikegpo our favorite Numismatist may have a copy of The Charlton coin Guide.
