I wouldn't feel comfortable buying silver off of Ebay. I couldn't be sure if it was fake or not. Some fakes are SO good it would hard to prove it with the right tools. I usually just get my silver from a precious metal dealer near me.

That's probably the safest bet. Ebay is swarming with fakes, you really do need to be very careful on there.
