Silver Shield Mini Mintage - DEATH of the DOLLAR - 2017 La Muerte del Dolar
This picture features the 2017 La Muerte del Dolar, which is part of the "DEATH of the DOLLAR" series.
This coin is pure art work. It appears to be based on the Dia del Los Muertos, which is a Mexican holiday similar to Halloween but significantly different. "Dia del Los Muertos" means "Day of the Dead".
The reverse has the standard reverse for Silver Shield 2017.
The coin was also available in Copper.

I like coins that come with, Certificate of Authenticity (COA). Chris Duane, usually, always has a statement on his coins.
The CoA on a BU coin is a nice plus. The designs/messages from Chris Duane are always intriguing. Most are controversial and none of them are tame. I can't say that I understand all of them but they get me to do some research on the content / subject and I usually learn about a historical event or historical figure.

I think it is beautiful too. I had the chance to get the proof some time ago and I missed that opportunity. Then, when this came up again, I knew I had to get it. The detail and design are incredible. Which is why I also got the copper coin too. The message on Silver Shield coins are usually meaningful and thought provoking. Thanks for the comment!

It's a standard One Troy Ounce Silver round. I think the standard size is 39.3mm diameter, which is about 1.55 inches. It's thickness is also standard at 3.2 mm, which is about 0.125 inches.

Thanks for seeing past the 'creepy' aspect of the coin and seeing its beauty. The theme of the series is the 'death of the dollar' and other coins were less 'creepy'.

I missed my first opportunity to get this coin and I really liked it when I first saw it. On my second opportunity, I didn't hesitate. This is now one of my favorite designs.

I've seen some painted coins... The American Silver Eagle is a popular coin that gets painted. The coin in this post would be awesome if it was painted.
