Hi everyone,
Today I bring you another Coinstar machine find. Again no silver, so far, I've never found silver in a Coinstar return tray, but I have found a silver quarter in the Credit union coin machine return tray.

So I was in the Safeway grocery store, and they have a machine at the entrance door, I always like to check the machines return tray, because I quite often find some free pocket change.
Not a huge find, I'll likely not get rich by searching Coinstars, but it's easy to look in the return tray when I walk by one, and it's a small amount of free currency... And I get a bunch of "world" coins this way.
$0.45 Canadian and 1 very worn Indian Rupee.
Always remember that a real treasure hunter looks for profit in all situations, even if it's a tiny profit.
Cheers everyone, thanks for reading.
Great idea for looking for silver in places you'd never think of!
Vending machines reject silver too!
Free 💰money is good money.
Near my daughter's home in Vancouver there is one of these Coinstar. I will start looking for "gifts" there.
Do it! They often pay out buddy! And some coins you wouldn't normally find
My employer briefly had a contract to service Coinstar machines, and one time I was dispatched for that duty. I was instructed to discard anything in the divert tray of rejected coins. Most of it was severely damaged coins or foreign coins, but I did find three pre-64 silver Canadian dimes! Not sure if I may have missed more before I thought to start looking at what I was throwing out. Sadly, I only got that one opportunity to search for that particular treasure, but it made for an interesting addition to my small stack.
That's pretty sweet, you likely missed some cool foreign coins as well! Live and learn, at least you found some silver!
A profit is a profit and free cash should never be turned down. Most of the finds I get are actually US 1cent coins that are usually mistaken for being British pennies(if looked at quick enough). Obviously the coin machines know the difference and so reject them, since they are no good over here they just get purposefully left. Well as a coin collecter knowing some of the values of rarer US coinage and mis-strikes/double-strikes, I always get a little flutter in the tummy when I see a few foreign coins in the coin bins.
Thanks for supporting...things right now have moved into the "window"..your post are excellent, by the way.
Brick by brick baby!
Rupee by rupee
That might take a little longer!
🤣😂🤣
Haha great advice @fat-elvis! I used to always check the phone booth slots lol and quite often find money! But they are all gone now, relics of the past... gives me an idea for a post actually! What does this machine do!? Do you dump your change into it and it gives you bills back!? 👍👍👍
I saw a pay phone the other day! They are not too common anymore, that's for sure. The Coinstars print a receipt, that you take to the till, then they give you cash.
Oh ok lol! so you put your change into it and it adds it all up for you ! Cool , I have not seen one yet here in Kelowna . ✌
