How To Start A Free Blog On Quora [Quora Spaces]

Quora is one of the best forums out there known for finding out answers to almost all the topics. We have already covered two blogs on How to directly earn from Quora and how to use Quora to gain more traffic and content ideas.

This blog is all about starting your own blog on Quora and how Quora pays you for that. And, if you are already using Quora, this blog can be an update on how to earn directly from Quora.

Let's dive right in!

Quora Spaces

Quora Spaces is a feature offered by Quora in addition to the usual questions and answers. You can read about the intent by the company and what they have to say about it in their official blog here.

That official post you read is announced in 2018, so, Quora Spaces has been around for sometime now. It allows you to create a space alone or with other creators or users on Quora.

It recently gained more attention when Quora started offering the "Earnings" feature for Spaces. More about the earning part later in this blog.

First, let's see step by step process of creating a space on Quora.

How To Create A Quora Space: Step By Step Guide

STEP:1 If you already have a Quora account you can start your own space. If you don't have a Quora account, you can create one at Quora.com.

By clicking on your profile name you can see a page like below. This is your profile where it displays the answers you have made and any other activities.

On the right hand, you can see a section that says "Spaces" and a "Create a space" button below that, as marked in the picture below.

STEP:2 Once you click on that button, you'll be asked to give a name for your Space. Think of it as your blog name. Remember, Spaces is not a limiting concept as a blog. You can ask other people o contribute and much more. We wil discuss that later.

Once you give the space a name, proceed to write a short introduction in the About section. This will make people understand what your space is about.

STEP:3 For this demo, I've created a space called "Space Demo". After writing the about section click on Continue and the next box will pop up asking you to fill in the topics.

Choosing topics will help Quora to introduce your blog to people who are interested in that topic and the similar ones. Add as many topics that suits your niche or blog.

If you're not sure about which topic to add, just search by a similar word and Quora will give you many suggestions for you to choose from. You can also see how many people follow those topics.

Here, I have added two topics for the demo. Once you have finished choosing the topics for the blog, click on "Finish" and there you go. Your Quora space is created in a jiffy.

What Can You Do Using Quora Spaces?

Now, let's get familiar with the Quora space components and what you can do with it. Quora spaces allows you to share stories of your own, share the answers from the questions or a question itself.

To get started, Quora gives suggestions which you can add to your space if you want to have more content in your space.

The first things are the basics. You can add an introduction post, ask your followers to follow the space by sending invites, make the space attractive using the icons.

Finally, once you are ready with content in your space, it is best to share your space to your Quora feed. This will give it more exposure.

You can make other Quora users contribute your Space. The roles can be changed to admin, moderator and such with different power controls. You can check the submissions to your space in the Submissions tab.

If you click on the next tab, which is suggestions, you'll get articles, answers related to the topics you had chosen while creating the space. You can add these content to the space.

It is not limited as your own blog but a collection of content related to the topic you want to share.

Scheduling is important when it comes to consistency. Quora spaces gives you an option to schedule your post for a later date and time. It is a very convenient way to organize your posts.

The next tab is for people involved in your blog. Like I mentioned before, you can add different people and assign them the roles to manage the sapce. In the "People" tab you can manage them.

The next one is an interesting tab which shows your stats. It is the same as analytics which tells you how many views you have on different content, upvotes on them, number of followers and the such.

This is a useful area to better understand and analyze your growth.

As you can see, my demo page doesn't have any content in it. But, once it has and it gets more views, you can see the best performing content and top activities in this section itself.

The next is the new feature on the spaces and that is the earning. This section shows you how much your space earned so far. To enable this you need to read those instructions and click on "Get started".

As you can see, you need to first reach the threshold of $10. The earnings increase as you get more readers and engagement in the space. The further processes goes on to reviewing and connecting your account for payment.

Let's focus on growing the space at first and consider the earning as a bonus. That's the best way to grow your space in my opinion.

Finally, there's the "Settings" tab which gives you options to modify your space. There are few features that are available only after reaching some milestones such as adding links.

The admins get their own log page where you can manage the parameters regarding the space. You can also assign this role to someone else on Quora.

If you click on the add person button on the right top, you can add people to different roles as followers, contributor, moderator and admin. Finally, you can share your space with your followers on Quora and other social media.

That is it, your own space in Quora is now up and running. How cool is it to have a space where you can reach a lot of people with similar interest?! In addition, you get paid for the increased engagement too.
