But Seek ye first the kingdom of and His righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you - Matthew 6:33. This is the guiding principle of living as Christians and when we follow this principle, life will be successful for us.
From the above verse, we see that there are numerous things that one can likely seek after but Jesus teaches to seek after God. One of the tragedies of today’s world is that we seek after allot of things and we neglect to seek after the most important thing--- which is Christ and the Kingdom of God.
Allot people pay more attention to money, some seek after their work, some after education, some after relationships --- These things are not bad, they are good but it should not be our priority. We must come to realise that anything we acquire here on earth (money, jobs, fame.... and so on) are mundane things, they cannot last till eternity, they are temporary.
Seeking after the kingdom of God does not mean you should quit other things, seeking after the kingdom of God means you should make God your priority, it means you should put God first in your life. And seeking God goes a long way to eternity. The benefits of seeking after God cannot be quantified.
The amazing thing is that, when you see the kingdom of God, other things will be added unto. Jesus asked, what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? So dear friends,
I encourage you to put Jesus first in your life, I encourage you to make God your priority in life. And the first to doing this is to open up your heart and accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. If you have not made Jesus your Lord and saviour, do it now--- it is the best decision you can ever make. I have never seen anyone who regretted making Jesus the Lord of his life, I have never seen anyone who regretted for accepting Jesus into His life.
Make Jesus your priority today, make Jesus the master of your life today, and put Jesus first in your Life.
Let us pray
The first step is repentance and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, that is giving Jesus Lordship and Control over your life. And if you’ve never done that before, bow your head right now, pray this prayer and mean it with your whole heart.
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and unless you save me I am lost forever. I thank you for dying for me at Calvary. I come to you now, Lord the best way I know how, and ask you to save me. I now receive you as my saviour. In Jesus Christ name. Amen
Change my heart oh Lord, make it ever true. You’re the potter and I’m the clay, mould me and make me, make me to be like Jesus. Amen
