Nice. Heading to Sapa currently, then bussing to Hanoi to fly to da nang where we’ll stay for a few nights and take a day trip to hoi an. It’s worth a visit like you said but I’m not all about the overcrowded nature and abundance of tourists either.
Hanoi was cool to see and experience. Quite different from what I am used to back home in the US

Good choice. Da Nang is a nice place to stay. Have fun in Sapa, I did Ha Giang, didn’t go to Sapa, but I guess pretty much similar landscape, should be nice.
I always liked Hanoi too

Interesting! I have heard this from several people actually. I have been living in Đà Nẵng for about three months now and still haven't been to Hoi An. We aren't really interested in doing touristy things but maybe we will go to take some Instagram pictures, haha. I'm surprised it was so crowded. It should be low-season now.

We really disliked the ticket entrance scheme in Hoi An! In order to see all the sights you need to buy several tickets and they were constantly going after us to show our ticket! It's nice but the constant harassment got old!
