I *SERENADE*U #1: Charlie Chaplin's SMILE cover by @MaXeN57

in #steemph7 years ago (edited)

I am 33 years old but my heart is young. Maybe because I became a mother at 23 years old that I had missed out on those years when I should be enjoying myself and building my dreams. But life hits you hard especially when you are someone like me who gave up all too suddenly because reality was not kind and I didn't have the courage back then to stand up for what I want. I've always dreamed of becoming a vocalist of a rock band but I didn't have the voice for it. But what I do have now is the voice to give words of kindness, to sing to people who might need cheering up, and the voice to speak out what was on my mind.

So for today, I bring you Charlie Chaplin's Smile. Through our heartache and sadness, many of us had faked a smile. It is our way of coping and sometimes our way of reassuring others so they won't have to share in that pain. However, I'd like to think that a smile is a sign of strength that we still have within us and because we care of others that we give away what little happiness we still have. Smile is not just an accessory. It should be our way of life to smile at the challenges we face and at the people who wants to bring you down. A smile gives a lasting impression. Smile to yourself in the mirror every morning and start the day cheering yourself on. Be your own biggest fan!

So from today on, I want to live life and become ageless, meaning that I don't need to care about my age to live life to the fullest. Age is just a number and should not limit us to reach our happiness. I hope you like my singing. If you'd like to request a song, please comment below. If I'm not familiar with it, I will learn it. Cheers!

Thank you very much. I'm happy that you liked it :)

You have a pretty vibrato. Thanks for sharing... I could see you on broadway :) and is that really by Charlie Chaplin? Wow, I guess it was originally by him--no words, though :)) Not until... two guys, Turner and Parsons, I believe, added words in 1954, looks like... (Wiki)

Hi! Do you really think so? I'm happy that you like it. Actually, I've been seeing a lot of videos on YouTube that has the Charlie Chaplin title but I'm not sure if he's the one who sang it. I do know that the music was featured in one of his silent films. And thanks for including some info as well :)

Yes, I really do think so. Yeah, from what I read it was in his silent film (silent, so I'm assuming that means no singing :)) , but then lyrics were added in 1954; it has since become a "standard" song; kind of has that "Broadway" feel to it to me lol which reminds me: I wanted to ask if you'd ever done any live performance? Your voice has that sound to it or maybe you're influenced by showtunes/ broadway artists alot? I dunno i'm just guessing :)

The last time I sang onstage, I was 5 years old :) I never really performed live and just sang along to my favorite artists. I'm into mainstream music and sometimes Broadway music if I like the song :)

Aww.. well, you should do it again! If you have any interest :) . you're good enough!

I will actually. I'll record another song again tomorrow.:) And thank you.

That's a beautiful cover beautiful voice dear : )

As you have bought over my case, I have come to give you an ageless live! I don't like your singing because I like it alot!
