RE: 3 OPTIONS FOR NEW STEEM ACCOUNT + 5 step steem.ninja process

in #steempeak6 years ago

I can already see complaints about "having to put in an address", but that's the risk. Personally, I think it's great that you're offering these three options for new users! Going to link to that when I have newbies on steem.chat that still need an account.

Sort:

Yeah agreed.

We need @steem.ninja to give a post or a few words to calm those sorts of concerns.
Or how much "STRIPE" the processor actually needs those and if people can get away with just country and zip cope for example?

To be clear this whole process is between the new user and steem.ninja not steempeak.

As you're also linking to steemit, I assumed as much. Didn't see steem.ninja around before tho. I usually just burn my own RC to make accounts for friends and promising newbies (or send them to blocktrades).

Im also using Stripe and currently only asking Zip code, as that is used for verification. My hunch is that Steem.ninja has already been abused maybe too much and have enabled additional to zip code also 'billing address verification'.

If one wants to create an account anonymous, using a credit card would not be the way to do this however anyhow, IMHO.

Aregato @suesa, thanks for your question. Please note that we have a referral program where you can earn commissions for each new sign up you bring to the platform! The address is required since it is a security issue, there are many people every day who are trying to abuse the payment system. It is pretty standard to require address for card payments.

I fully understand why you're doing it this way! Just encountered many users that already complained about the need for a phone number for the steemit account creation. That's why I pointed it out :)

I'll have a look at your referral program!

Steemit also does not have to deal with potential credit card fraud or refunds :)

Lol, true. Again, I understand why but there will be users who don't and they'll whine.

I am sure !ned would hug them if they start to whine :D

Enjoy your ned and don't forget to recommend nedcore!

Lol.

Nah, they'll all end up in steem.chat general, where they'll also ask me why "the admin" can't remove "that post with wrong information".

Maybe it's good they can't get an account.

I think if we teach them how blockchain and steem works they will like and understand it.
