We have been working on making signup for a NEW USER much more intuitive and easy this is our first step in that direction by giving them 3 methods to create an account and comparing the benefits of each.
There will be other options in the future... that will align with our on-boarding goals and which will benefit new users even more. In particular those who are mostly on steempeak.com to view and just comment (fans/viewers)
STEEM.NINJA PROCESS
Here's a step by step of how @steem.ninja does the signup process using STRIPE to pay the $2.50
- To be clear this process is between the user and @Steem.ninja
- steempeak.com is just connecting these two parties to help them pay for and make an account
- They are using STRIPE as their CC processor FYI
STEP 1: Choose a name
STEP 2 : Download a text file that has all the keys in it
STEP 3 : Put information in for CC processing
STEP 4 : Put your CC number
STEP 5 : Be notified you were successful
It's just a step in the direction of a full set of ideas for on-boarding into steem/steempeak.
FUTURE GOAL
Our goal is to make it so influential creators can use https://steempeak.com and their fans (sometimes thousands or more) can easily come in and be able at least comment on the creators stuff and be able to explore steem easily with our system.
THE RIGHT FIT
And if they want to be a creator or have a wallet or have voting power or play @steemmonsters then we can also get them a steem account easily with these options. (These 3 options are not the end of it)

Awesome new change!
This is a much needed addition to any front end :)
This is indeed great news! It's funny I've just released an "every front end"-supported Signup Widget, so any Steemproject can put a signup on their site. This widget is run on the frontend completely and doesn't require the user to leave.
Setup instructions: https://steemwallet.app/widget/index.html
Awesome! Where can I find out more about this widget?
well, on my blog and on the link above :)
Verrrry good to have maaany options for onbaording, Aregato @roelandp for providing these alternative options
Arigatou gozaimasu @steem.ninja !!
It's also nice to show new users others ways they can sign up onto the platform that they might not otherwise be familiar with.
I wonder, once it is implemented, how many people will write comments without making a Steem account. It would be nice to get more engagement on posts even if they don't leave an upvote during these slow times.
I can already see complaints about "having to put in an address", but that's the risk. Personally, I think it's great that you're offering these three options for new users! Going to link to that when I have newbies on steem.chat that still need an account.
Yeah agreed.
We need @steem.ninja to give a post or a few words to calm those sorts of concerns.
Or how much "STRIPE" the processor actually needs those and if people can get away with just country and zip cope for example?
To be clear this whole process is between the new user and steem.ninja not steempeak.
As you're also linking to steemit, I assumed as much. Didn't see steem.ninja around before tho. I usually just burn my own RC to make accounts for friends and promising newbies (or send them to blocktrades).
Im also using Stripe and currently only asking Zip code, as that is used for verification. My hunch is that Steem.ninja has already been abused maybe too much and have enabled additional to zip code also 'billing address verification'.
If one wants to create an account anonymous, using a credit card would not be the way to do this however anyhow, IMHO.
Aregato @suesa, thanks for your question. Please note that we have a referral program where you can earn commissions for each new sign up you bring to the platform! The address is required since it is a security issue, there are many people every day who are trying to abuse the payment system. It is pretty standard to require address for card payments.
I fully understand why you're doing it this way! Just encountered many users that already complained about the need for a phone number for the steemit account creation. That's why I pointed it out :)
I'll have a look at your referral program!
Steemit also does not have to deal with potential credit card fraud or refunds :)
Lol, true. Again, I understand why but there will be users who don't and they'll whine.
I am sure !ned would hug them if they start to whine :D
Enjoy your ned and don't forget to recommend nedcore!
Lol.
Nah, they'll all end up in steem.chat general, where they'll also ask me why "the admin" can't remove "that post with wrong information".
Maybe it's good they can't get an account.
Its so simple and direct to all to understand. Thanks

this is awesome to see. now with easy onboarding, it'll be interesting to see what 2019 has in store for Steem, and what Steem has in store in return ;-)
Very much needed for the average person. The sign up is a bit complicated for most people and the waiting period for the free account can be maddening, lol. Hence why I have 2 accounts, took too long for the first one, so the free one is my music account and will be focusing on dsound.
