For me personally fighting other players is part of what I don't like in browser games. So obviously I am no fan of farming. It some point you become either paranoid, send your fleet away every night and do other stuff. And then for me it stops being a game and starts being work. And well normally work pays good ;)

This is the real balance that I don't think many games have got right so far. They all end up like a chore. Survival games a perfect example of this, dayz or Ark survival evolved for instance you spend more time running around gathering resources, which can be fun at the start, then actual objective completing or interacting with other players. It turns from fun to the point where I can't even think about playing the game without feeling nauseous
