RE: Good-bye Steemmonsters, I've Had Enough With This Last Tourney Twist (HAPPILY UPDATED!)

in #steemmonsters6 years ago

I'm yet to have time to have much of a look at the tournament feature yet, but what I've just read doesn't fill me with great confidence.

I guess different people have different opinions, and you can read aggy's reply (and my re-reply) on the original post if you like. The bottom line is I don't think its right that someone is not considered "serious" unless they agree to pay a entry fee when we bought the cards necessary to enter the game.

I was having a bit of a browse through. It was very interestint to see a few well established players enrolled in the novice free rolls. Can't imagine too many novices enjoying being taught a lesson by seasoned campaigners, regardless of restrictions on which cards that can be used.

yep... so true.. and sadly both my issue and the one you mention would be solved if people had to play in their own ELO rated bracket. If your silver, you can only play in silver tourneys... diamond plays only in diamond tourneys... It would solve people playing out of league in both directions and solve the 8000 people entering that they seem to think is going to happen. (even though there is at most 500 players btw)

Yeah, but sadly that's not going to ever happen because people are greedy and want to play in every game possible. It totally hurts the game though.

If it were to change, then people could still use their alt accounts and bypass the intended purpose again.

As matt once said, if these cards weren't worth anything they could do a lot more in this game.

Free to play games earn billions because they ensure the purchases don't affect game play.

The only people that enjoy pay to win games are the ones with money and little skill.

I agree except they would have to constantly move their cards if so.. or at least buy new ones to fund their alts... If they had a fully stocked deck at each level, then I don't care if they played them in alts or not... At least they paid for the cards and the accounts and aren't just using the same max deck over and over in all leagues.

And you are probably right that is won't change... That's sad to realize, but I'm coming to that conclusion... Just yesterday I was telling @cryptkeeper17 what an awesome opportunity this was... Now I had to call him and tell him to read my post... My eyes have opened with this move and its a shame because I liked the Steemmonsters that was for everyone and not just the top 50.

Indeed. The current status quo does seem to be weighted heavily in favour of a small few

they're killing the game by doing that too... the answer is to pay deeper or you will end up with about 25 to 50 people that win everything.

And now that Steem Monsters isn't the only game on the block, you need to keep your appeal. People won't want to enter tournaments at their "level" that they can't win

yep... they will see the hard way if they don't change course. Already they have killed the reward system by announcing 400k of each card as the future print run.

Now this is an obvious shot in the foot too. Too bad they are so stubborn they won't even consider mine and yours (and many other's opinions).
