RE: Good-bye Steemmonsters, I've Had Enough With This Last Tourney Twist (HAPPILY UPDATED!)

I get it... and I don't blame people... I saw your post and will reply more in depth there, but basically its an "investment" in the sense that these cards are needed to play the game. So if people think it will be popular at some point in the future, then they might want to have these cards. It also has some collectible aspect too, as the early versions are usually sought after by the hard core gamers.

Having said that, I don't recommend people buy them as an investment (especially not now), but it is what I did. It might not be the smartest investment, but my bet was they got it right and this was a huge success.

So the super short version is the cards are the stake that people have in the game. People can't play without them (thus they buy packs and buy them on the market). If I think they will go higher, then I buy them and wait til they go to my desired price. (like with steem, its kinda the same thing as their is a limited amount of each one of them)

I do think there is a cross over between steemmonsters and an investment as something changes hands that can be sold on. But anything can be considered colletables too, and thats more of a form of hobby than investment.
