Wow. It feels so good to be back again. It’s been over a month since I last published SteemMag due to events I explained here.
The atmosphere on Steemit is so similar to the pre-July massive launch last year. With so many new faces here on Steemit, it’s likely some might have never heard of SteemMag before.
Over the past 10 months, SteemMag has been covering all the major actions on Steemit. From the first edition’s chat with @smooth, I’ve had an amazing experience presenting chats with major whales on Steemit, top Steem devs, leading Steemit authors, owners of crypto exchanges like @blocktrades and @bittrex, successful crypto traders and so much more.
Every week, I take a look at some of the most important/trending topics and have a chat with top Steemians who have expert views on such topics.
Hopefully, with a dedicated @steem-mag account created, there should be no break in transmission again. :)

This week, I will be having a recap of how far we’ve progressed this month. This will be in addition to brief chats I had with top bloggers and a Steem crypto trader.
There is no denying the fact that a lot have changed over the past 1 month.
A leading Steemit blogger @kevinwong gives a brief overview of how much things have changed.
SteemMag: You've been one of the most consistent Steemians this month. Can you describe how the atmosphere on Steemit has changed over the past one month?

It's great seeing new and old users being excited and happy about the platform's potential. Steemit almost feels like the Google office in Silicon Valley now, except you know, decentralised. As long as the community keeps learning and keeping flow while devs work to deck out more awesome tools for STEEM, influx of new users along with effective coordination on fun, social activities, we should be able to take Steemit to the next level.
Traffic Numbers
Not only as the atmosphere changed with less bickering, we’ve reached all-time highs in terms of traffic. Steemit is rapidly spreading in Asia, America and Europe are also not left out. And Steemit is slowly capturing the hearts of social media users in Africa.
We also had a chat with the highest ranking Steemit blogger who has been tracking the traffic numbers of Steemit as far back as the pre-July 2016 days.

This steemit.com traffic growth chart is beginning to look very suspiciously like the Bitcoin historic price charts.
Hmmm. This gives much hope. Remember bitcoin once traded for cents a few years ago? Imagine the price of Steem in the next 5 years :)
Steem Blockchain Tools Development
The number of Steem tools released has also substantially increased. Just earlier this week, @jesta released ChainBB.
@good-karma has been prolific with frequent updates and there have been some good updates from @steemitblog. @timcliff is also very familiar with the codebase of Steemit and releases timely updates about changes with the Official Steem Github account.

Steem and SBD Price
There is no gainsaying that the recent boom in the price of Steem (and even SBD) has led to the sustained tempo of the above headings.
SteemMag had a brief chat with prolific Steemit blogger and crypto trader @kingscrown.
SM: What are your thoughts on the price of Steem and SBD over the last one month?

Due to smaller amounts of STEEM on the market (currently people) are paid for posts in SteemPower and SBD finally the inflation got smaller and the pump on the price was possible.
The 7 days payment window also helped with this. With all the news lately about new services getting to this blockchain it seems the price should be raising.
But we are also in the historical moment of BTC running to 2000 USD, which may cause dumps on all cryptocurrencies no matter of good news and development - and you shouldn’t underestimate this part.
SBD which is dollar pegged interestingly trades above 1USD which is a nice premium. For some reason, there is more demand for SBD than they are on the market which is great.

This is incorrect. There has always been more people buying steem than authors cashing out and it is still true today, you just have to look at the exchanges's wallet to see that.
The reason the price was allowed to spike is because early miners are done dumping.

Out of the top 50 withdrawals only 3 users are earning author reward @tamim @abdullar @dollarvigilante
The bulk of the money going out is not made by people cashing out their rewards.
If you want precise numbers use exchange's wallet history to calculate how much authors's money is going out VS steem coming in

It feels great to be here, love hearing talk of all things crypto and potential earnings from it. Also lots of interesting characters and posts on here too. It's the best social media platform for me at the moment. Can't see any other projects coming close for social media and earning

I saw what was going on those past few months inside/out and all around including "where are @smooth and @abit" rude attacks now?
FInally I also understand what a circle-jerker is and that @berniesanders might be a little asshole as he calls himself but at least very honest. I appreciate this!
It's an unfair and unbalanced "money-crabbing" but also passionate "awesome people" community I still enjoy but it's a shame that so many early adopters who badmouthed steemit the loudest, cashed out most, left and back again with the same old topics.
Lots of valuable members are getting frustrated just like July last year. Indeed!
Soon the people will start writing about "money" topics again.

hahaha. I understand what you're saying. Steemit has always been a very good way of meeting various personality types. I've learned to deal with all personality types in a manner that wont cause conflict. And oh, do I see all those early adopters too? You bet I do. I truly belief we're gonna get things right this time.

Some extra exposure for those arts is always nice! I am really impressed by @milaoz's food posts. Besides that, I think @azfix makes beautiful milkyway pictures and our newcomer @sardonyxnumismat has already shown beautiful artwork.

These are exciting times for the Steemit community. We're seeing real growth now and the rising price improves morale. Some people could become millionaires! I'm excited to see where it goes in the next year or so
